People having agendas and using certain players as scapegoats does not sit comfortably with me. Heckingbottom is by far our greatest manager in a generation. Yes he makes mistakes (dont we all?) But he is learning all the time and i have no doubt that he will go onto manage at a higher level at some point in his career. Brad Potts is a Barnsley fc player. He is in his first season at this level. Like Hecky he will make mistakes but like also like Hecky he will learn from them and improve and get better. Some folk need to look at the bigger picture down.at Oakwell. We have a fantastic manager and some belting young players. Be careful what you wish for. Great win yesterday.
Adam Hammill has been fantastic this season. Contributed in attack, defence, in galvanising the team, and the fans. And yet, after a victory away from home, you seek to find fault. This is why you get yourself into trouble on here. Picking on players because it fits your agenda. And befire you ask if I went. It's irrelevant. Hammill has done enough this season to not be singled out, especially as you've said he wan't too bad. Is there any need? Also can you just stop this "I've been to a million matches including reserve games" malarkey. It doesn't make you a better fan. There are folks on here who have been to Brighton, Plymouth etc on Tuesday nights in the 4th Division when we really were crap. Just enjoy the victory.
I wish I was as an insightful, eloquent and committed Barnsley supporter as Hemsworth Tyke... I can but dream..
Aylott after the match and he said that Potts is crucial to that team as he drives the side forward. .................. and that's exactly what I said last week after Potts got some stick from a few fans that can't see further than their nose.
I think any striker can play in a one. As long as he gets the service he requires. At Preston Ugbo played up on his own and spent all game with the service coming at his head from 50 yards away. He was ineffective as a result. Bradshaw would be likewise. When you get the wingers down the flanks like yesterday or Potts, McGeehan etc getting up around him it's a different story.
Translation from Hemsworthian to English:- Davies – Sh!te and Hecky is too ‘cos he’s not the lad from Chelsea that Sheff United loaned McCarthy – Good ‘cos he’s not Andy Yiadom Pearson – Sh!te ‘cos he’s from Halifax via Accrington McGeehan – Good ‘cos he started at Chelsea Hammill – Sh!te ‘cos he’s very good and very popular Williams – Good ‘cos he’s from the Prem Hecky – See Hammill Barnes – See Williams
Not these days, apparently. If it happens outside the penalty area, the referee always blows for a free kick, whoever is doing the holding. However, if it happens in the box when there's a dead ball situation, referees pretend they haven't seen anything!
Actually, after thinking about it, it seems like it was 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. They've both completely lost their shirts, presumably during a close tussle after a quick breakaway.
