RE: It doesn't say we are funding it this year, PLEASE TRY AND READ WHAT I WRITE

this is getting boring. No, the original post doesn't say we ARE funding it this year, but it doesn't say we ARE NOT either. Taking things far to literally, my English teachers were never this picky. The facts are, BOMfest has been helped out in the past, its losing a lot of support, but i think next year will be the one when we see a full on backlash from local bands.
Anyway, the best band in Barnsley aren't even allowed to play BOM :D

    1. Are BMBC funding BOM this year?
    2. Are the arts council funding BOM this year?
    3. Your original post said Barnsley tax payers are funding BOM this year, how do they fund it?

    Simples...

RE: So again I will put this simply for you...

    1. Are BMBC funding BOM this year? Don't know but if it goes tits up it might do AGAIN
    2. Are the arts council funding BOM this year? Don't know but they have done in the past
    3. Your original post said Barnsley tax payers are funding BOM this year, how do they fund it? By giving the BOMfest money to survive, this money might have not been paid off yet so we could well be still paying it.

    He clearly isn't wrong.

His main point is that, in what's supposed to be a fastival of Barnsley music, the Barnsley bands are being sidelined.

    RE: He clearly isn't wrong.

Yet he starts his thread and I quote

"We, the Barnsley tax payers fund this festival to promote the local music scene"

Then finally admits he doesnt know if BMBC are funding it, he doesnt know if the arts council are funding it either....and doesnt know if the tax payers are still funding it on the basis of a one off payment years ago...

    Love it..

    I know

That tax payers money has gone into it before and wouldn't be surprised if it does again. And if it does happen again and the shunning of Barnsley bands continues i'll be speaking out again.

    Windy - you'll know this.

Is it a case of blatant false advertisement?

BOM - When a majority of bands are not from Barnsley and all but one are not viewable on the main stage?

False advertisement? Misleading the public? Fraud?

I doubt you could make anything stick.

Trading standards might take an interest but they'd probably come away saying that they do have a number of Barnsley bands on.

    RE: Again.

Stating on a public forum that Barnsley Tax Payers fund it is not a minor detail.

I shall say no more on the matter "man".
