You are more than welcome to join myself, Roy and the rest in Redfearn's on Saturday, pal. It's not a pre-requisite to buy alcohol, and not many of us smoke. Offer's there. But we're a stupid bunch, there's little seriousness.

    Thanks for the invite.

I was a drinker but I had to stop because it upset my stomach. Although I am now taking medication that takes away the acid, I would rather not get back into the habit. I find that I am no longer bothered, just so long as I stay away from temptation. Friends tell me that waking up and realising that this is as good as you will feel all day is not what they want. However, I am sure that they did not wake up and feel as bad as I used to.

What I do regret is not joining you on the walk to Bradford. Perhaps next time. Although I am retired, I still regularly walk 20 miles in 7 hours, and I have no excuses for missing out.

I used to post fairly often, and at least a few times a day. Nowadays, not so much, as you know what you're going to be reading even before logging on. I do stop by on occasion, just to see if a few old faces are still posting, and will continue to do so.

People who don't post and then complain about a lack of content (a few in this thread), always makes me chuckle that one.

Get your name down for the next one, should there be a next one. I hope so. It's a cracking experience.

i'd miss it, but its not a patch on what it used to be.

10 years ago I would have been devestated, I spent all my working day on here, or its equivalent and it was so entetaining.

I read the BBS most days and will add an opinion or alternative view point if others haven't already beaten me to it (normally Jay when he's in full verbocity mode). Once upon a time, I used to see it as a Challenge to think of a topic to get a Two and Half Page response within Twenty Four Hours, but Im out of practice now and my efforts are pretty Feeble.

Great idea for a thread, Fired. :)

This BBS is one of the three websites that I visit pretty much every time I get online, and since I've been coming in here for more than 15 years now, I guess it's safe to say that this BBS is a very important part of my daily life! First of all, it's the #1 (and only) place for me for any Barnsley news (and pretty much everything else related to football), but I also like it how people talk about other things in here as well and not just football. The football club has gone through some good and bad things during my time in here (mostly bad things, I suppose, but I don't regret any of it!), but I've also met some great people over the years - I'm definitely up for another BBS get-together when I come over again! We've had our fair share of forum drama and some nasty arguments, but I've had a lot of good laughs too. We've had some personal tragedies, and some of us have sadly departed for the great BBS in the sky, but there's been a lot of good stuff and happy news as well.

People always say how things used to be better years ago, and how the BBS is nowhere as good as it once was. I don't know about that, there are still some great people in here, it's just that the team is performing so badly at the moment that makes this place so gloomy sometimes, I think. Yeah, I know we're pretty sh*t at the moment and I do find it annoying when some people feel the need to constantly rub that in our faces (it must be some kind of a survival mechanism or something for those people), but we'll come good again one day. And it's just football, anyway. :)

I'd be sad if this place stopped existing one day.

Whats the others? Or are they too filthy for a family site?
