To be honest Ian its a false choice there's more than plenty to support all causes what these fekers in various parliaments across the world do is legislate to divide the resources of the world between a very select few then keep enough to appease enough people to keep voting them back in then let the rest fight over the remnants to divert them asking the real questions.
What the Beckhams have done, in terms of end product, is great and they need applauding for it. What I don't get, is why everything they do, has to be media hyped.......with that much wealth, quietly donate and feel happy you've contributed to a needy cause.
Jeez. Can't quite believe people are being criticised, for trying to help the human devastation caused in the Philippines. Opting out is totally your right. But criticising others for wanting to help? I think anyone who does anything, no matter how large or small, should be applauded.
They do a lot for charity and the vast majority does make it into the press. They have a foundation which you can apply to for individual cases. I wrote when I was helping with fund raising for my god-daughter who has a brain tumour and I couldn't believe it when I got a reply and a gift donation. I sent hundreds of letters out and very few were answered. I would imagine they get lots of requests every day and unlike the majority a reply is sent and fortunately in our case a donation also. BigLil can also testify to the generosity of the Beckhams.
Victoria's Mum Phoned our house, just after I'd got in from doing a mornings shift. Thankfully for her, Crystal answered the call as I was in a grumpy mood and would've just assumed it was a wind up from one of the lads at work. David & Victoria kindly donated a book by David on football coaching, which he'd autographed, as a raffle prize for a charity event for Post Pals (Laura's favourite charity at the time) that had been organised at Gilroyd Club. I'm quite convinced David & Victoria were bragging to the likes of Tom Cruise and other 'A' listed Hollywood celebrities that he had the Herring's home telephone number!
Ever thought that maybe they didn't necessarily WANT it to be so hyped? Do you really think that they can do anything without the press knowing? This thread boils down to people being jealous of success, fame and fortune
That's the thing though.... Beckham said what he was doing with his wages at his first press conference with p.s.g without being prompted.
Again, why does it have to be selfless? So what if their donations are only to gain attention? (Not saying that they are). I'm sure the people they help don't care less, and are maybe even happy that they can help the Beckhams too. Some people feel bad for accepting charity no matter how much they need it, this way they may feel happier about it.
So should the Phillipines aid be sent to Scotland instead ???? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...Itll-save-rest-fortune-says-SIMON-HEFFER.html
Who knew Beckham had visited the Philippines before? Not with LA Galaxy, but with UNICEF. http://www.boxingscene.com/beckham-among-many-macau-back-pacquiao--71994 Even 24 hours later this thread really annoys me
Re: Who knew Beckham had visited the Philippines before? I can't get my head around the fact that some people have a problem with others doing things in aid of a charitable cause.
Re: Who knew Beckham had visited the Philippines before? Arabian Ian started this thread, maybe he's confused because Fecking Jocks never give owt away.....
Re: Who knew Beckham had visited the Philippines before? Ha Ha I only posted an opinion and its been great on how its turned out. I couldn't have asked for any better. Like I canna wait for my homeland to get Independence so as to get rid of English scum like this. http://youtu.be/pmGjiokfQ2A LOL
Re: Who knew Beckham had visited the Philippines before? So you deliberately wanted people to respond disagreeing with you? Is life pretty slow at the moment then? Bit of a strange response .....
