Best day out - Weller at Don Valley Stadium, support included Skunk Anansie & Travis.

    oddly best small gigs:
Travis at Donny Dome supported by Keane
Skunk Anansie at O2 Acadamy Leeds supported by a pair nutcase Eastern European girls.

Big gigs that managed to shrink a stadium:
    U2 Pop tour at Roundhay
    Springsteen at Milennium Stadium.

First gig The Who at Bingley Hall, I was 14 and it was both deafening and life changing

Only1kp. I checked google and got the set list. Never appreciated the quality at the time. No doubt your concert would have been very similar.

I Saw SOAB. Orson. but somehow Saxon passed me by. I have though, seen ODS ( Saxon) on many occasion and think Brian Shaugnessy (seventh son) . Is a fantastic frontman. I usually get to manage to chat to Graham Oliver. An absolute gent.

I saw them at Knebworth in 1975 with Steve Miller , Captain Beefheart , Roy Harper and more strangely Linda Lewis , I spent the whole day looking like a chicken as my feather sleeping bag had burst and I was wearing black jeans and black shirt

U2 in Seville 360 tour. Saw the Sheffield gig at Don valley and seen them a number of times including both Joshua tree tours but the Spanish crowd mixed with Brits and Irish made for a great night.

One of the 100+ Cribs gigs I've been to. I just couldn't tell you which one. Seeing them in Brooklyn at Williamsburg Hall of Music with @Hicksy and @Gally was pretty special mind.

Kooks and Killers playing back to back on the Pyramid Stage at my first Glastonbury was bloody brilliant. 2007 I think. Also with the same two bad influencers mentioned above.

Loved that period where TFI Friday had a prime slot in show casing such bands, first heard kula shaker on there.

I ended up seeing The Hours 3 times in all, twice supporting (can't recall the other support, but suspect they were better than the main act!) and once in Proud Galleries in Camden that was effectively a converted stables. Maybe only 100 or so people in there and you could pick up their crib sheet o see the playlist order. Sadly Ali in the Jungle was first and over and done with.

I really wanted tickets for the Saturday, envious line up. Though Sunday wasn't too shabby with Kula Shaker, Cast, Manics and Charlatans!

Arctic Monkeys at Leadmill, the day before their first single (IBYLGOTD) was released was special. I'd seen them before, but you knew they were about to go massive.

I've really enjoyed seeing Stephen Fretwell at Night and Day Cafe, different show but fantastic.

    I've missed two off!

Ahem (judge as much as you like, i care not!)..... Duran Duran (Lovebox) in Victoria Park. Loved them as a kid and never saw them live until 2009... i got a smidge giddy!

And a complete left field unexpected one. Starsailor and Basement Jaxx in Mechelen at a free Maanrock festival. Was on a city break and they happened to be playing. We got a table at a local cafe on the square and drank belgian beer to the wee hours of the morning. Then feeling very hungover the next morning, proceeded to have a brewery tour at Het Anker.

    Good times.

Even managed to get in the front pit, got there well early for that. Great gig and horrendous sun burn the day after.

Oh god the sun burn! I must admit, I'd not been to that many gigs at that point, and went with a mate and his wife (who i very much hope haven;t been allowed at a music event since!) and another mate. I don't think any of them realised how far Knebworth was or that we'd be getting home in the wee hours. I was on an early train to London next day too. The meetings were entertaining explaining why my face looked like i'd been to chernobyl. Though to be fair, they didn't have to see what it was like on day 2 when the peeling kicked in!

    Good good times though.

Richie Edwards disappeared in February 1995, so your dates are little out.

Too many to remember, but (today) it would include:
Spaceman 3 - Reading Festival 1989 (last ever gig)
    Nirvana - Reading 90 & 91
PWEI - Re-Form-Ation at Birmingham around 2002 or so
Les Negresses Vertes - Reading 89
Mudhoney - Octagon 92 (when I officially met the wife)
    Pixies - Reading 91 (I think)

The one I regret missing the most was Mudhoney at the Hallamshire in October 89. Supported by a couple of Seattle beat combos - Tad and Nirvana.

Either Stone Roses at Leeds Arena a few years ago or Sleaford Mods on many gigs when I followed them around the UK, Leeds Irish Centre being a personal highlight.

Arctic Monkeys on the Suck it and See Tour was excellent as was Milburn every single time I’ve seen them. Their first tour back in 2016 was dreamy.
