There is no doubt about the brilliance of Pele and Maradona during their time. But it's impossible to compare them with the best players of later generations. The game has changed so much. Different balls, different defenders, completely different fitness levels. To be outstanding then was easier then it is to be outstanding now, in my opinion. most of the highlights you see of the greatest runs players made is like watching sychronised diving. Defenders just diving in left right and centre with a *** in one hand and a beer in the other.

If push came to shove though, I'd say me. I was great, the scouts didn't turn up when I scored 157 goals in one match when I was 9. I could have been a contender me.
