    The counter argument is that it could only have improved our chances of survival [he would have to play well to preserve his desirability to other clubs] and we then sell ourselves to prospective recruits as a more established Championship side.

    I am sure Pinnock wouldn't have sulked if we said we needed him to stay while January. Might have got even more money by waiting.
