But protests can influence governments foreign policy. Even if it just encourages a push for a ceasefire, it could save hundreds of lives
You mean you wouldn’t want to see a few Sheff Weds fans tethered by their legs to a small piece of wood with a hood over their eyes while everyone gawps at em?
A pointless question. But why is it folk in north Barnsley call owls. Howals. Also my eldest Granddaughter who says it like that. ( must be a Darton thing) takes great pleasure in winding me up by reminding me she was born in Sheffield (hospital. That's another story) on a Wednesday. She is a Barnsley fan though bless her.
Well I’m not here to defend the Raj that’s for sure, and empire certainly helped underscore differences in the various groups in the Indian subcontinent. Partition was pretty much inevitable and wherever the line was drawn conflict was guaranteed. Probably your average Punjabi population didn’t have much say in the matter, but were caught up with it all the same. However I was more referring to the genocide exacted on the Bangladeshi people by Pakistan in 1971 - 25 years after the end of the Raj- on a scale 10 times anything we have seen in Gaza. Can’t put that on Mountbatten.
To be fair that's a modern view...in actual fact Rahmat Ali had been pushing for 11 separate Muslim States...nine of them islands surrounded by India....Gandhi and Nehru wanted a unified State but Jinnah insisted on partition... Attlee was put into an impossible situation and the date of leaving had already been set.
Your mate Tommy marching behind a banner reading "This is London, not Londonistan" Surprise surprise, it's not about respect or policing, just plain old racism. Disgraceful.
Ohh yeah me and Tommy are great mates etc, it must be true if you say so lol. Did you enjoy the 'disgraceful' march ?.
To be honest I still don't know why they asked for the march, as the St George's day thing was only 5 weeks ago. Btw, there didn't seem to be many police there, which makes a good change.
You know you're going about something badly when you claim to be patriotic but the main Daily Mail article is calling you hooligans.
Yeah I see both sides (these lot and the Mail) are having a go at each other, so that's not going to change is it.
Some of the video clips doing the rounds are just abhorrent. One in particular of three little lads in the march, chanting "Allah, Allah, who the fk is Allah". No older than 10. Heartbreaking to watch really. No one is born with hate. It's taught.
The funny thing is, all you do gooders and social justice warriors all live in a predominantly white, traditional areas of the UK. Laughable really. Try living in some of these $hit holes that have been absolutely decimated by the so called 'multiculturalism utopia'. No normal person can go into parts of London, Birmingham, Leeds, Bradford and think, yeah this is the life.
Depends where you're coming from. I've spent the day at a street festival in Leicester, yes white faces were probably slightly the minority, show me a more mixed city than Leicester. Peaceful, enlightening, nearly that multicultural utopia you speak of. Have you seen Manor Top.
