    That's as may be, but labelling someone a pervert for their sexual preference is just simply blindly and destructively emotive.

    Quite rightly the law must and does protect the innocent. But calling someone a pervert for a preference they would not choose to have gets society nowhere beyond a lynch mob mentality.

    The need is to contain and if necessary punish/restrain according to law.

    Today's "consenting adults" were yesterdays "perverts".

    Which is why "pervert" as a label advances this problem no further.

    So you should. Don't understand how anyone could give someone a second chance after what he did. Paedophilia crosses any lines set. Any hint of someone having any involvement would be enough to make me steer clear but someone who admits it and is then charged what on earth where you thinking?

    Not really able to believe someone you know is really that bad a person, taking in their insistance that it was a mistake and they really are sorry at face value - and probably making the stupid mistake of thinking if all their friends abandon them that makes it more likely they will reoffend.
