I'm not critical of what DM's comments Loko. I didn't perceive the comment about pursuing him in the past to mean that he was our first target when we got Stendel and as a result being a dig at him, although I can understand how others might. Tbh I think 'in the past' could relate to a few weeks ago or when we got Morais or when we got Stendel. I've also not been critical of DMs comments in the past, although I would like him to communicate more as I think it would be helpful. But it does nothing to ease my frustration with the owners. I'm firmly of the view that the 'pull together' bit should have been from DM or preferably PC or Chien Lee. Their continued avoidance, evidenced by their silence, makes it worse if anything. I'd genuinely like to feel that we're all pulling together but the Board need to evidence that rather than feeding in a statement and attributing it to the new coach. I know this conversation isn't about Struber but I'm going to comment on him anyway. I'm not disappointed he's got the job and neither am I excited or enthusiastic. Prior to a few days ago I'd never heard of him and I know nothing about him. The same applied to both Morais and Stendel. I hope he does a really good job although I'm not sure how we'll judge whether that's the case to be honest as producing a team that competes doesn't seem to be the prime objective. Having said that, if we stay up it will be an amazing achievement. In summary, I agree with your final sentence.
On paper, he looks a good appointment. I'm actually shocked he came here with his team looking like a decent Europa league team. Let's get behind him. As far as the board/owners, they are not forgiven for past actions but I don't see the need to be jumping down their necks regarding this appointment.
I think it was @Jay that photoshopped an amazing map of the Don and Barry's magical mystery tour of the UK in pursuit
He may have been a target in the past and he will get my full support from day one but what happened to Daniel hasn't been forgiven or forgotten.
