Wasn't Deehan notorious for having a little bit of a temper? I seem to recall him falling out with the manager or coach or something after a game...
Yes it was Mal Shotton who had a frank exchange of views on the bus with JD but I’m struggling to remember who was involved in that on-field smack.
See bings response, he's got it bang on. I struggle to get my kid interested at Oakwell, he's waiting for Mbappe/Ronaldo/Messi or whoever to come on. Social medias already taught these kids what footballers are unfortunately.
Thoroughly enjoy going to non-league games. Was at NCEL Tadcaster Albion 1 Eccleshill United 1 last Saturday. Beer in the clubhouse is less than £4/pint (in a glass) and the food is vastly better than at Oakwell: pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy for around a fiver, looking very tempting. It's the same at Manse Lane (Knaresborough Town) and Station View (Harrogate Railway Athletic). Entrance fee is £5 (less for me being an old git). Atmosphere (such as it is) is also much nicer: conversations with linesmen etc due to proximity. I pity the posters who talk about the "Pub League" quality, they are the "prawn sandwich" attendees who Roy Keane talked about....
Ah sad times. Plenty of kids go to non league, it’s far more engaging with proper interaction with the players. No social media needed when you can stand and have your picture took or ask them about the game afterwards
Thanks for that I hadn’t seen it. Maybe I should have stayed in Farnham to watch them tomorrow rather than trecking up to Wombwell this evening so I can go to Oakwell tomorrow
I used to grace the pitch at Manse Lane with my silky skills and physical prowess. Great little setup they've got there.
Went to watch Ebbsfleet v Oldham last week. Interested in Norwood and Dallas. Cost me £15 as concession with £25 for my son + grandson. Beer £4 pint loads of choice for hot street food around £7 each.
