It's been announced he had an hour and a half conversation with Putin, and was invited to Moscow for talks.

The way it's been initially framed, you just know pressure will be applied to cede the Donbas and Crimea, maybe more, Ukraine will be blocked from joining the EU or NATO and in a few years, Russia will have built up their military again, strategise how to topple Zelenskiy if he's still in place, or... meddle in an election and try and install a puppet similar to Belarus.

 

The very fact that it’s Trump negotiating with Putin, and Zelenskyy ‘being updated’ sounds very iffy indeed.

I seem to recall there were numerous rumours of Trump being compromised in relation to Russia during his first term, similar such rumours swirled around DePfeffel.

 

How would you end the war? Innocent lives being lost in the hundreds of thousands, at a cost of hundreds of billions cannot continue forever.

 

Just seen a clip where Adolf Musk is giving an address in the oval office while his bitch Trump looks on. During this address Musks son is in the room just wandering round like he owns the place and he looks directly at the giant orange rapist and says "you're not the president, you need to go away" and then "I want you to shut your ******* mouth up"

Appeasement doesn’t end well. History has told us that.

 

Initially, I had no issues with the 'threats' of US pulling from NATO, because it's true that most nations didn't pay their 2% agreed GDP, they shouldn't have to pay for our defence from thousands of miles away whilst we put pennies in (actually, I believe the UK were paying over 2.4% at time, but not the majority of NATO countries)

However, 5% is ridiculous. It's not in any agreement. The only way for years on how to end this corrupt Ukraine Russian war was always going to be ceded territory and keep to the initial 'promise' of not allowing Ukraine into NATO after the fall of the USSR. Surely it was either that or other nations get directly involved and it does cause world war 3? I'm glad I'm in no position of power because I have no idea what to do. Do we join the war, push back Russia and Putin into a corner, so he thinks **** it to using nuclear? Or if we did join directly, what other nations would be for & against? I don't really know what position Ukraine is now as we failed them right at the very start with Biden & Johnson. I just can't imagine seeing the bloodshed and build up of dead bodies.

 

Many of these countries are/were protecting USA interests as much, if not more than their own

 

It’s unbelievably difficult and I can’t even begin to understand the weight on the shoulders of grown up European leaders.

I suspect the US generally do quite well out of wars and defence and have been happy to pay what they have understanding the threat Russia could be again.

I just look at it by trying to put yourself in the position of a civilian of a country dealing with murderous invasion. And having been to Ukraine before the pandemic, seeing how fiercely patriotic and against Russia people in Lviv were, I can’t begin to imagine their thoughts of America right now. Hostile most likely.

How would we feel if our homes were crushed and burnt, our children taken, our dams destroyed, our fields turned into deathly mined areas.

If Yorkshire were invaded, would you be happy if the rest of your country, your continent, your allies just gave you up?

I’ve little doubt that Russia will seek the weakest pacification. That they will find a way to be antagonised again and murder Ukraines leader or install a stooge and rule by proxy. And it won’t stop there, particularly while Trump is in situ. The Baltic states will be hugely worried. As will Poland.

Russia will never invade Poland, firstly they are in NATO and secondly they would be a different proposition military wise, it has the third largest military of all NATO countries. Russia have struggled against Ukraine, so they would definitely struggle against Poland.

 

They will still be worried.
