I think you pick your formation based around your best players.

Woodrow and Moore seem to work best together in a 2. Mowatt benefits from having a grafter next to him in midfield. Thiam struggles defensively put is flying in the attacking third.

We could play 442 with Moore and Woodrow one week, but with an injury to one of those 2 then we could play 4231 with Bahre coming in.

    It good to have options.

Totally agree ,we look comfortable most times but if anything happens to Moore or Woodrow you wonder where the next replacement is coming from especially if it's a long term injury.

If any team in any league in any country lost their main 2 strikers they would struggle, when ever in our history have we had strikers to come in who are as good as the starting 2. This I think is where the style of play and formation is important where if we do lose players everything is not lost.

I know this isn't as good but if Moore and Woodrow where injured we could replace them short term with Thiam Bahre Brown with Green and Adebejo as back up. The strength in our team is a midfield three of Mcgheehan Mowatt and Dougall as shown in the second half yesterday and to play them together someone has to drop out either a striker in 451 or wingers in 433.

The point I keep droning on about is that Dougall, Mcgheehan Mowatt have to start as with them in we are stronger and if they do something has to give which has to be the 442 formation with whoever on the wing.
