Marble Arch for me, although if my last two visits are anything to go by I won't make it to the ground
Erm just a few observations about the ground Food.... quite good quality, but very pricey, remember these are Prem prices. Beer inside.... reasonable... decent for a football ground Bogs..... good. T.V. replay screens on the concourse. 2 big replay screens at either end. Stewards are usualy alright as long as your not acting like a crackhead. Coach car park 30 yards away from entrance. Metrolink opposite end from your end but still not that far.
what are best places in town to have a drink these days fella? last time i went we hung round northern quarter/picadilly gardens?

tomfun Yeh.. northern quarter is your best bet, maybe the top end towards the top of Oldham St..... The Castle seems a cool boozer, Bar Fringe on Swan St, a load at night around Thomas St ( ithink), anywhere within that 1/4 square mile around Oldham St seems the place to be.
train into piccadilly, then metro to shudehill? i'm told there's a direct metrolink from shudehill to etihad now as well. is that right?
The Metro is going to the Etihad at Picadilly Gardens, although I was told there was a biggish queue against Leeds, but I was told everyone got on. Price one way £ 1.50p . don't leave it too late, give youself a bit of time before kick off.
Just been told they were every 10 mins or so against Leeds, so going before the match might not be too bad. After the game might be a different ball game regards queue's, you might be better getting the bus behind the South Stand
Whenever I've been to the Etihad we got the bus to Piccadilly gardens then got the bus to Sports City. Always walked back after the game though since it's that busy. It's not too far.
Blivy To be honnest with you, the traffic is so bad going back down the hill, if your good on yer legs and fit, sometimes you will beat the bus back, so , yeh your right.
Well, with my missus being due on the 25th March, the game is gonna be 2 weeks before she is due and so it looks like ill be driving there, just in case!! Is it safe to park where you say for away fans? Don't fancy parking there and walking to ground and bump into some City nutters. Also, if its 5:30 KO, what time would you recommend getting there?
Doddy I've got to admit, G.M.P are pretty good at organising a game, unlike West Midlands, Merseyside, and a few others I can think of. There's usualy hundreds of fans walking up Grey Mare Lane, and I've not seen too much over the last few years except the Derby game. Hyde Rd, will be very busy seeing all your traffic is coming from that end as well, could be a problem, shear volume of traffic, so maybe don't leave it till the last 3/4 of an hour before kick off.
Hyde road into Manchester has never been bad for me, but then I've never driven in with match day traffic over the Woodhead on this scale. However, Hyde road out of Manchester is bad at the best of times, it will be an absolute nightmare after the game. All because of one bridge where two lanes of traffic go into one for about 20 yards.
at the Etihad is it possible to upgrade a juvenile's ticket to an adult ticket for cup matches if the juvenile can't go? Thanks.
funnyfella You might just about make it if you run down the hill back, but it's a good 2 miles, and you will be cutting it fine, ..... very fine. How fast can you run/ walk. Picadilly is a 20 - 25 min walk, then add 10 mins to Oxford Rd
