Just a point to make...... unless youv'e got time to kill, I wouldn't get the tram back to town after the game because I v'e heard tails of long queues, and although they put double trams on, they only hold 200 or so at a time. You might be better getting on one of the buses behind the away end.
Mr Tevez123, I'm driving in by myself and am used to approaching the area by Droylesden Road, the A662 off the M60. I'll need to park up somewhere down that road, where would you suggest and how far and how long would it take to walk? I've got a bloody bad back and walking at the mo is very painful.... I don't want to have to walk too far !
Mr Badger Any chance you could park near the Velodrome or around there. 200 yds before lights at A.S D.A. turn right, Velodrome down that rd.Otherwise the Metro is going down Droylesden Rd, park 1 stop away and get down a street, then tram for 1/4 mile. Otherwise I'm not sure on that side of the big set of traffic lights at A.S.D.A., although when at those lights, there always seems to be hundreds walking down there, so they must be parking somewhere within walking distance of the A.S.D A lights
Thanks for all the info Tevez,we will be happy to repay the compliment for next Wednesday, will be able to tell you the best pubs and where to park we have some great chippies, you will love Barnsley
tinker I went to Barnsley a few years ago to watch the Blues, but not been for a few years. I seem to remember the centre looked a bit like Oldham only a bit flatter, but about the same size. By the way Tony's chippie a the top of Grey Mare Lane,( behind your end ) is a real cracker, lots of away fans go in there.
TEVEZ123 I was wondering how City allocate their away tickets for premier league games or indeed Wembley appearances. Obviously you'll often sell out your allocation so I was wondering how your points system worked and if you need to have x amount of points before you can buy away tickets and if that figure changes depending on which away game it is. Cheers. We have to dig up our Colchester stubs for big away games but I'd imagine your system would be a bit better than that?
Blivy Yeh, they dish out loyalty points depending on how many games you've attended. For most big matches you'd need 6000 loyalty points just to be guaranteed a ticket. Also, you can either opt in or out of the Cup scheme, where tickets will be sent to you automaticaly for home cup games, mostly to season ticket holders. I'd say half the crowd v Barnsley will have got tickets this way. Also, City have a long list of supporters clubs, with god knows how many members. They get a percentage depending on how many members there are in a branch. There are a couple of branches in Manchester with 1000 members each. They dish the tickets out to the fans with loyalty points with most first day etc......... believe me, it's ok, but like any system, not perfect.
Don't know if I can get on tomoz, so if not....... hope it's a decent game and may the best team win. Hope I have given a bit of good info out over the last 2 weeks or so. I'll probably come back on after, win lose or draw. okidoke
