There's some things even bigger than football and it puts into perspective this Barnsley, Donny nonsense.
My heart goes out to you. You need to be strong but at the same time don't be afraid to lean on your friends. It's not a sign of weakness. Remember in all of this you need to look after yourself as well. Best Wishes.

Only 24, but already seen two family members suffer with this dreadful disease.

I know it is hard to express words at this time, and people say keep your chin up but keep smiling, but to yourself you will feel 'how can I do that'. Just enjoy the time togethor even more, grasp every chance to do things but most important use family and friends to express your feelings to, don't allow yourself to bottle it all in.

Don't underestimate your children, deep down they will have known that something was very wrong and even though they hate the news they will appreciate you treating them as adults and telling them.


I always know when people are keeping secrets from me because they don't want to upset me but it hurts more that they can't tell me the truth.

Please look after yourselves and don't forget help is out there if you ask.

I can't do much to help but if WCU or ZCU need someone to talk to I will listen. Mum says you know how to get in touch with us.

25th July is a special day for me & my wife - so sad it's a terrible day for you.

Having just watched a close friend go through the same battle all i can say is never be slow to ask for help. There are some wonderful people who do a fantastic job to help people in your position.

Lost my dad to cancer many years ago when I was 8.
It is a difficult time , but try and draw strength from your `Bulletin board family`. Some lovely people who genuinely have you all in their thoughts.

Hope your wife is in no pain after the op and you get some quality time together.
