It would be interesting to see how much money they have invested into each of their clubs beyond the initial purchase price.
I don't think investment from the initial purchasing group is the end game though is it? I thought that the whole idea was to make the club(s) self sustaining then profit from selling down the road?
So if they did purchase the ground as they said they wanted to, what money would be used to make the improvements?
I'm guessing profit from player sales? (If there is any?! ) I dunno to be fair, but direct investment doesn't seem to be something they do, at least on a large scale.
I honestly can’t see there being the arguably necessary rebuilding of the west stand without Premier league money. The current ground owners have barely enough interest to keep the ground open and safe. The clubs owners won’t be investing in off-field projects, unless they’re self funding, they have only enough interest to ensure they’re not financially vulnerable. A new stand would increase the value of a Prem/Champ bounce club, but has zero value to a Championship club.
Insurance is generally easy if there isn't a threatened dispute. If the other side is aware of the issue then that will generally put insurers off, so the fact that insurance wasn't available doesn't mean that it's not a mines/minerals point.
At the time the original intention was to relocate the East Stand further east and similarly move the pitch further east. This would mean it would provide far greater area to accommodate the redevelop the West Stand area. There is a pinch point at the southeast corner of the West Stand which makes redevelopment difficult, unless it is cantilevered over Grove street. This could be a planning restriction. It was the presence of the underground water courses that scuppered the original plans.
Agree. But if the other aide are contactable and aware, then dialogue can be opened to see what their position is i.e negotiate a settlement. The solicitors would have informed their clients of this option - so you’d imagine the they’d ask for this to be looked into Not yourself, but some seem to forget that a solicitor will only act upon instructions. They will advise of all the options, but it is for the client to instruct accordingly.
Interesting and a good idea. Then ORA followed afterwards, so that would have been re-aligned too later. Also explains why the East Stand never was extended further back to greater hospitality capacity. There’s still room for a new internal floor in the east stand though, which is allowed for but never been added.
