Crossing the white line and trying to win our games in the championship. Unless you also feel we should be chasing both cups as well.
Turnover in the past year will be bigger than the Premiership season so you're right - not really comparable. Where are you getting £3m from?
Yeah your right. Money will win in the end. Players wages and transfer fees will determine overall how well they perform as a footballer. I suppose Conor Hourianne and Sam Winnall are good examples aren't they?
God this thread is miserable. I wouldn't worry about it Redstar mate. I feel bloody blessed to support a team that has offered so much over the last 20 years. Promotions, cup runs, relagation battles. Been a bloody riot. And now we've got one of our own at the realm who has just led us to our highest finish in years. All will be reyt.
It's correct, wherever I got it from. I should hope by now people on here I don't post rumours etc without being confident on where it's come from.
I'll have a go at this one and try and sit somewhere in the middle. The reality is we are not fishing in the same pond financially as a lot of clubs in this division. Many of which either have frankly rediculous parachute payments (completely flawed system) or a hugely rich benefactor/owner. Let's not kid ourselves that even with some of the money people insist is being hoarded that we have the pulling power to entice top players on over inflated wages. That being said, we ARE able to compete financially with a good number of teams in the division of similar stature. Now. Controversial point. Money does absolutely 100% not guarantee success. There I said it. Of course it helps but it's not the be-all and end-all. Leicester winning the premier league being a prime example. In the premier league they didn't have the same financial power or reputational pulling power as any of the historic top 6 clubs. Nor even spend as much as Everton or Stoke. Yet they won the league on the back of tactical nouse, a boat load of heart, work rate, organisation and sheer will amongst other things. I'm not saying we'll be promoted and chances are this season will be a huge uphill battle to even stay in this division despite the 15 million pound dangling carrot if we do stay up. But can we just give it a bit of a go before we all plunge deep into dispair?
Oh I'll wait my turn . But I'm right though aren't I By the way I wasn't replying to you when you highlighted my first post in the thread
Sorry I don't think I explained it well enough. I don't mean that they are worse than conor, Marley etc were when we signed them. I mean that they are worse than they were when they left. Somebody explained it the other day as Conor being a 3 when he signed for us and leaving as a 7. Mcgeegan is a 5 when we sign him but that is still 2 worse than Conor when he left. Repeat that throughout the field and surely we are making the challenge of staying in this league significantly harder and surely that should be our minimum objective. If we get relegated it could be disastrous for our club in both the short term and the long term.
But McGeegan's potential's better Supertyke or so the club should think. If we can get Mcgeehan to a 8 then sell him we'll have made a lot of money then we can buy a 6/7 and so on. You can also develop a squad by selling individuals. Football manager use CA (current ability) and PA (potential ability)
