Well at least he got a warning.... A certain time ago when we played norwich away, I made a remark (regretfully of course) and was INSTANTLY banned without a warning, or in fact the chance to make good the comment I said... He had a choice, was warned, didn't act and was banned. Thats fair game, but it does need to be "common" across the board, and be a set process. He was funny at times though
RE: Well at least he got a warning.... If I remember rightly, you received an apology and the ban was uplifted
RE: Its not arbitrary- site admin were receiving specific complaints You are right. Site Admin generally do a great job. I get a bit worried when folk are banned though and I think it is right that we question the procedure. I can accept the line that site admin find something offensive and therefore act on their judgement. That is how it always used to work. However, some rules appeared where folk were asked to send them complaints. Some people who make these complaints are listened to whilst others are treated with contempt.
not strictly correct.... your actions were fair, it was that I emailed directly and apologised after realising that I had gone to far that and it kind of sorted it out... I was only responding to the fact that you did your job correctly, but at times there should be more consistancy, in that I mean, If I received a warning, I would have "edited" my comment etc and replaced with an apology to say it was not appropriate etc... now the rules are on display, it is clear, and that should resolve it (or most). Not a pop at SA, but more of a pat on the back for putting in place something that everyone can now agree to etc
RE: I was banned without warning too. Which rule did he get banned for breaking? Harrow Tyke won't tell anyone.
RE: Fascist! I think it's fair to say that we will never ever please everyone and we will upset folk along the way. However, if you are warned that you are posting offensive material and you decide to flaunt that then you will receive a ban.
Friendly warnings are issued to people who may not realise or intend to upset folk. If you're warned and continue to post offensive stuff then you have to pay consequences.

That actually wasn't what he used in the main
He used the colloquial version which is generally used to mock.

He wasn't banned for breaking a "rule" as such Site admin are quite within their rights to bend the rules as they see fit. He was banned because the "right" person complained because they found what he said offensive. Site admin obviously didn't ....as he's been offensive throughout his time on here.
Well, at least you banned dreamboy when he threatened to kill me. I still daren't go out on my own at night. (hidebehindsofa)
It'll be the making of him All the greats have been banned, censored or done time. He's up there with Orton, Wilde and Glitter. The big gay ******.
Disgusted that he's been banned One of the longest term regular posters, andahumourous contributor. There are much worse folk on here. I'm more offended by the iditotic comments made by a number of regular posters thanI am by the word sp@z - which is in the dictionary FFS.

I dont like to see anyone banned but I dont think he had the maturity to realise how offensive some of his posts were. He has been warned often enough.
RE: He wasn't banned for breaking a "rule" as such With even just a quick look at the rules its pretty obvious to anybody that he broke the rules of pargraph 1 and 4 http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=53494&mid=335682#M335682
