paul.d......... I think you are missing the point

I'm not saying that the directors need to go out and throw a load of money at the team at this moment in time
What I am saying is this - it would be nice to know that the directors have money to put into the team when the time comes to do this
I think they have done a great job so far

No wind up.........why should it be?..I would have thought most TARN fans would be interested

I would have thought most TARN fans would be interested in the clubs directors
As its them that decide whether the club sinks or swims
Obviously its (tumbleweed) just passed you by

Never mind........we can talk about My Little Pony if you want (lol)

John Dennis and Co were not that rich...

but presided over the most successful era in the club's history bar none, regardless of what has followed.

A well run club that knows where it is going eg Charlton/Bolton will achieve far more than a club who only ever relies on one man of not mega wealth eg Abramovich. Unlike him, I would like to guess that PC does not have access to oodles of ready cash, especially if most of his wealth is actually in shares or property

well how much money cryne may or may not have is not really relavant has he has on many occasions said he will not bank roll the club. He just helping until such time as out debts are paid.

Id say the future of Barnsley football club depends on the fans sticking by the team. A good Manager in charge which we have. And never again pushing the boat out too far paying stupid amounts of wages for players. God knows what the wage bill was like when we went down.
The contnued changes to the managment and poor running off the field. Yes the directors are important but what difference does it make how much money cryne had when he will not plough it into the club and to be fair why should he

Did I hear £100 million being spent on the team..............eeeeerrr.....NO !!!

As usual Acky, as in the case of politics and other subjects you seem to be interested in, you have read something but thought it was actually saying something else.
As usual you have put 2 and 2 together and come up with the sum of 37 (or summert)

Largest collection of lowry paintings in the world.

Large share portfolio.

Thats is his business though,so not really for us to start to speculate.

I think the club is in safe hands and if any investment was needed, I'm sure Mr Cryne(as in the past) and the directors would come up with the capitol.

Young Nudger -
.

Acky -
No, im just asking some logical questions.

You said that you think Barnsley FC needs Patrick Cryne to have £100m+ or it will struggle. But this statement doesn't take into account how much other teams have to spend. If Cryne puts in say £30m then how many other teams are really going to spend that much cash? If, as you said yourself, 'it wouldn't take much for BFC to have a bright future', then why spend £100m+ in the first place?

Where did the £100m figure come from?
