Was the increase due to confidence in the Tory government, or due to the lack of uncertainty surrounding which coalition was going to take power?

I voted to change the system, therefore I am well within my rights to call "I told you so" and shake my head at the whole sorry state of affairs.

    bit of both mate.

businesses on the whole seemed to have more confidence in a tory government, not because they are all rich capitalist ****s but because they feel that the tories are more capable of running the economy than the labour..The federation of small business, association of convenience stores and other trade bodies were more favourable toward the tories, imo Ed Balls was one of the reasons labour fell from grace, very few traders i know would have trusted him running a club tombola let alone the economy.

Why would Dan Jarvis jump ship? If he sees a career in Parliament he has a job for life. The country has spoken after the tory press portrayed a country run by salmond and sturgeon although they are a minority and Miliband made it clear there would be no Coalition. It was the tory press what won it.

"George Osborne is not an economist. He's got a degree in Modern History, and the closest thing he's got to an economics*qualification appears to be "O" Level maths, meaning that he's bizarrely underqualified to be Chancellor of the Exchequer."

Well, the first thing I want to say is..."Mandate My Ass!"
Because it seems as though we've been convinced
That 36.8% of the registered voters
Not even 36.8% of the English people
But 36.8% of the registered voters form a mandate ...
    Or a landslide ...

    30.4% voted for Milliband
And 12.6% voted for somebody else
    Who might have been running
