goog point well made. Had Pompey lived within their means thay would have struggled. Does anyone know what will happen if they are not in a position to start next season? will there be 23 teams in league 1 or in league 2 with an extra team promoted.

You cannot apply hypothetical reason to this argument about Portsmouth because the fact is they broke the rules by bringing in players they couldn't afford. Had they not done so who knows what their squad would have been and where they would be in the league. They achieved their pre admin points total playing players they wouldn't have been able to bring in had they played by the rules.

True. Then again, we don't know what player was paid what and who they could've brought in and not brought in.

The underlying point is, we've been **** for the best part of four months, but over the course of the season, probably just deserved to stay up. We need some quality in during the Summer, or it's going to be the same old story.

Agreed. I've also heard a fair few people saying that portsmouth only got the points they have this season (before deduction) due to overspending and therefore hill deserves more credit. Surely they spent the bulk of their overspending LAST season not this, they've been making cut backs this year, they spent big BEFORE so surely Mark Robins is the one who deserves the credit for matching them last season not Hill?
