It’s more a centrist issue. Corbyn like Foot before him had constant criticism threats of breakaway and internal enemies cheering for the opposition. Now the centre right have their place men despite spending years shouting ‘but Corbyn’ they expect the left to offer the loyalty they failed to show.

As someone on the left I’m told I’m not welcome as s member and that Labour don’t want my vote. Why would I go against what Labour themselves are saying.

John Smith would have been such a good PM. I think he was one of the few that both wings could support Like you I will vote Labour but I'm not that fussed on Starmer.

The main thing I like about Starmer is that he will never be popular enough to have a majority so will be forced into coalition. The price for that I am assuming will be PR where we can all vote for parties then we believe in rather than least worst.

I wouldn't vote for either of them on principal. As long as we have this two-party obsession real change will never come.

No PR when the lib dems were in govt so I wouldn't be too sure of that.

i don’t think that they will entertain any arrangements with Labour that don’t include it. Clegg was a very poor politician who sold his soul for nothing. I think the lessons have been learnt.

I think Labour would be stupid not to support PR*, unfortunately I find it nigh on impossible to see how it’ll ever happen.

*on all issues other than Brexit, the people are broadly more left than any government we’ve had since the 70’s. This often gets overridden by fears that the Brits are a bit racist etc.

i suspect there will be a semi officially ‘stand down pact’ which will result in a hung Parliament and Labour will have to either run a minority govt or work with other parties who will make PR a requisite for cooperation. Or we will fall into another election.

I’m also ‘someone on the left’ but I have had no communication from the Labour Party to tell me they don’t want my vote.

    What have I done wrong?

If you are a member all you have to do is leave and as per Rachel Reeves you leaving is a matter for celebration and she / Labour are happy you won’t be voting for them. If you remain a member and you are soft left like McDonnell or Long Bailey they will get round to you eventually. If you are not a member of course it’s harder to target you but if you are anywhere to the left of say David Cameron assume they don’t want you or your vote.

As my daughter works for Rachel and I hsve met her and Angela Rayner too. I think you should withdraw the lies you have said about Rachel and the Labour party. Unless you have evidence, which I seriously doubt you have.

Rachel is my MP and certainly does want my vote, despite me being a big Corbyn fan. I definitely wish she was more left leaning but she’s been an excellent constituency MP.

I’m one of the members she is glad to lose and apparently I’m a racist.

Reeves is absolutely vile. Demonises benefit claimants and happy that Labour are heading back to reliance on donors if they can find any.

Doesn’t say he is from Wakefield district which you’d have thought he might mention if he’s from Hemsworth

I just wasn't expecting him to have any connections given this thread. That's all.
