Yes, really. Do I agree with his dismissal? Not really, no. I don't think he's had very long and let's be fair, what he achieved last season ought to have bought him a bit more time. But he's shown little this season to give us hope, and so I'm not surprised he's got the boot, just sadenned by it. (from the blog, directly after his sacking)
God knows why some of you think we should be top 6 at least. You have to earn it, and there are 23 other teams just as hungry for those places. And don't mention having one of the biggest budgets in the league. That's changed this season, Ben himself told me our wage bill and spending ability would be severely cut this season. No panic from me, don't care if we're in this league another 3 years or more. So long as the club is run right I couldn't give a monkeys.
But I'll just post it on here anyway, with absolutely zero substance behind it, because it supports my attempts to undermine the manager.
You have to have ambition otherwise whats the point! Being happy in the Alehouse League for another 3 years is not showing any ambition.
We have twice the crowds of most teams so you would expect to be able to more than compete with say Gillingham, Burton, Bury or Rochdale. I don't care too much about promotion it was lost when we changed the entire team again in the summer. I would settle for turning up at Oakwell and not being bored rigid. Let's just let our players express themselves and see where it takes us.
Although I'm not a fan of LJ and I'm also not a fan of giving time to a manager just because people want to be different in the modern game of getting rid of managers every other week, I dont think he deserves too much criticism for yesterday. I thought we were very comfortable and it was actually nice to see him go for it for once in the last 10 minutes. My only real gripe is his continual selection of Townsend who is a liability. Naew. He might have been questionable for their winner, but other than that he was faultless yesterday. I prefer Davies, he'd be my number one, but I like Townsend. He ****** up for their second goal, but **** happens. We've two good keepers, little issue there for me.
He flapped at a few crosses and the goal at the end he deserves a prison sentence for. He's too small for my liking aswell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is no quandry. He is our man and we need to show faith. The way some (zaslos and reeve to name but two) comment on here, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he resigned. You really are a bunch of fools if you think we should change the manager. Really. The world has gone mad. We're 3 points off the top six with a game in hand. Do you people get threatened with the sack if you have a bad week at work? For gods sake show some patience. Grow some balls and stick with a bright young manager who is giving the club a root and branch makeover. patience. Oh .....and whoever it was offering 500 on the promotion bet, why don't you get down the bookies and stick it on down there if you are holding that much negativity inside your "glass is always half empty " head. Sometimes I despair at how much negativity pervades this site. The manager has said that the thing he finds difficult at our club is that when we win the fans go over the moon and when we lose or draw we're ****. Show some patience and get things in perspective because if we can't do that as fans no manager will be a success at Oakwell . No manager.
Likewise sometimes i despair at the rose tinted happy clappers who refuse to see whats in front of them. He's been here a while now and its time to see some sustained improvement. IMO he cost us a realistic shot of making the play offs last season and so far this season he and his tactics have cost us a fair few points. There is no point in giving any Tom, Dick or Harry time unless you can see they are the right man for the job, which he is yet to prove to many. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
