It was hard to find any credit for us afterwards. All about how it was them playing badly and we were just there. They didn’t take defeat well.
It was hilarious watching the Efl show, and seeing 'Weirdo' get up to his antics again for Plymouth yesterday lol. That shocked look on his face when he's done something wrong, and pretending it wasn't his fault.
A very strange appointment. A very tough gig for anyone never mind a rookie with them losing Flekken, Mbuemo, Norgaard & probably Wissa too
He'd be my shout. Ferguson has one hand tied behind his back so doubt he'll be in line. Reckon Plymouth will come good once they've sorted their defence out.
Hey I didn't realise they had lost all three games so far. But if they eventually do sack him, they could always bring back the wonderful Joey Barton.
Championship - I think Rubén Selles will be under huge pressure from the fans should the blunts not start to pick up some wins soon. Why the hell did they sack Wilder? Selles appears to be a yes man to the new owners so they may be inclined to stick with him given they've switched to an AI/data drive transfer approach. Big Val was supposedly on the verge of getting sacked by Blackburn last season but they stuck with him. They are 0/2 to start the season so expect him to be under huge pressure once again. Watford's head coach, don't even know who it is but their owners are bat **** crazy for hiring and firing . I think Wrexham's Parkinson will be given time although I expect them to find it tough. League One - I think Mike Dodds at Wycombe could be a contender to go and possibly Noel Hunt at Reading. Despite their poor start to the season I expect Plymouth will support Cleverley. League Two - Appleton at Shrewsbury and Scott Lindsey at Crawley Town will be under huge pressure. Both relegated from league one last season and would expect to go well this season but they've had poor starts. Also can't help but look at Clarke who has lost his first three games back at Bristol Rovers. In terms of timing, I think we will see the first sacking in the EFL on Saturday 30th August!
Sheffield United sacking Wilder was one of the most insane decisions on the planet. 92 points and lost a playoff final in incredibly unfortunate circumstances. Not really sure what more he could have done.
And in case anybody was going to over react after just two games... Blackpool after two defeats, beat Huddersfield who were top, after two wins and no goals conceded!. Who would have bet on that particular result.
It was insane but ultimately it was all to do with their new data driven transfer approach. Wilder is an old school manager who wants to be fully involved in the transfer process, they were trying to significantly dilute his influence in this area by switching to an AI/data driven model. I don't think he was too disappointed to be relieved of his duties given the direction they were looking to go in. Selles is a yes man who will do as he's told. The crazy decision by the board was to extend Wilder's contract in January.
