tbf , it was rife everywhere in the 70’s into the 80’s. The only plus being that it is very much in the minority these days but sadly I can’t really see much way round it , the ones involved barely have a social brain cell between them and follow like sheep. Maybe go back to the days with police in the grounds and chuck the culprits out as every occasion presents itself. Obviously going to cost but so do 30k fines.
No but I know that your assertion "there[sic] definitely none these days" is wrong. That's nothing to do with you hearing or not, that's you saying there isn't any and you're wrong.
Wow wish I hadn't since 2014 and last season I can recall 4 incidents at oakwell and on away days which has been morons using racist language aimed at players or on one occasion tried to start a racist song. And 4 incidents in 7 year people will say well that isn't a lot but it's too many if you ask me and these people have always been seats or at most 2 rows behind me so it probably happens more than enough.
I can’t believe you’re actually a reds fan at all then. In my opinion 40+ years ago the racist/sexist language was much worse but has got progressively better ever the years. It’s not perfect nowadays, but now more than ever, it is usually the odd idiot who is more likely to be shut down. A low point for me was I think late nineties away at sheff u with loads of Barnsley fans all around me singing “you’re just a town full of….” . I’ve never been more embarrassed to be linked with our club.
