I’m not sure we’ll be too concerned what position he plays after the window shuts

Shepherd has looked like a fish out of water playing on the right hand side of the defence and Huddersfield were looking to play on that, but to his credit he was right on it today

Really liked the solid base of Connell and Bland. More of that please. The defence needs protecting, these two can protect them.

Need to find a role for Russell though. He's scored 7 goals in his last 7 starts for us. Plus 3 goals in 6 starts for Jamaica. Please don't let this talent be sold off for cheap.

I didn't think Friar Tuck had a great game, was a bit worried he'd come back to bite us in front of a big away support.

We sat back alot and just ran the game down I wanted us to attack more and go for the goals but we played it safe after the most clear cut red I've ever seen.

I get where you're coming from but Russell can't play deep. That means taking the spot off Phillips and no way should we do that, especially now Phillips feels like he has new life into him with how much defensive work and running he's been doing mate. What a fantastic headache Hourihane has though!

Just seen red card back on video and the high foot looked bad enough to give a red to me cos he didn’t catch him but the intent was enough for me and I’ve just seen it a second time and he elbows him in back of head as well and I’m not joking when I say he could genuinely have killed him that’s so dangerous dirty horrible ****

Get where you coming from, however I didn’t think Bland was at his best today, Connell was immense btw, going forward they could provide that good base you talk about when they get more accustomed playing together.

Just seen it for the first time. Absolutely despicable to follow through with the elbow. Glad McGoldrick is ok.

Will wait to see the highlights back but at the game I thought it was 100% a red. Came hurtling out and wiped him out.

I thought we were really solid in the spine of our team today, including both centre backs and both central midfielders in Connell and Bland.

For all the talk of DKD not being a striker and yeah maybe we all expected him to be a bit more involved game by game so far this season, nobody can argue with how switched on in the box he is and how good his finishing is.

I know we still need to recoup some transfers funds from somewhere but I really hope we stay strong until Monday and keep our better players.

Connell has been like himself under Duff and it’s excellent to see. DKD has been getting the goals. Phillips has been getting the goal involvements but also getting more involved in games. I don’t remember us ever having a better long distance, low shooter than him. Every time he sets himself you know it’s going to be hit with venom and accuracy.

Nice little break now to recharge after quite a few games already. Great start to the season.

Agree this was great win and good performance overall, just read MDT and moans seem to be about the commentary today ha....left players alone, btw if you want comical commentary there’s plenty in ground shoutings/moaning etc lol, but all ended well today, COYR’s we can go up this season!!!

It's a shocking challenge. I was genuinely concerned for McGoldrick's health.

A game I was expecting to lose to be honest - so a great result. We were by far the better side 1st half and deserved the lead. They can’t point to the red card for being behind at the break - we fully deserved to be ahead anyway.

Bit disappointed in the 2nd half, I know we were trying to manage the game but we did it just a bit too casually for my liking, summed up by the awfully lazy/sloppy back pass. If we had just gone at them a bit harder earlier I think we’d have put it to bed completely early in the 2nd half - when we did push on we scored/had 1 disallowed and looked dangerous.

But that’s picking at things really - 3-1 today great result overall - doing better than I thought we would be.

Think the stats showed huddersfield had 1 shot on target resulting in 1 goal which was obviously gifted by the otherwise excellent Ogbeta Otherwise any possession added up to nowt..

Fantastic to see DKD use all his energy in the centre of the pitch today, his movement is insane
