It could - and it could also be the worst thing to happen since we appointed administrators after spackman and parkin took us to the 3rd division

until we know more about the proposed take over team - who they are, why they are interested and what their plans are its far too soon to be getting too carried away ... or too depressed. I just am naturally skeptical

Serious question, if we are breaking even every season do we need an owner? Obviously Cryne will need to be repayed the interest free loans he has provided the club, but as Dyson said on another thread couldn't we be owned by the fans?

    Out of Order.

Mostly I take your posts with a pinch-of-salt, but I think you are out of order with the name-calling.

Look at Portsmouth as an example of a club where take-over has gone drastically wrong. Ask the Pompey fans how they feel about it.

Most people are being cautious, because they see what happened at Portsmouth, and don't want it to happen to us.

If the investment, take-over, call it what you want, is for the good of the club, then I am all for it. I am sure that Patrick Cryne will make the right decision, one that is good for him, one that is good for BFC.

Let's all wait and see what comes about.

And calling one another names is not helping the situation.

Patrick Cryne has written off all the money he has given to the club.

Last time he was at a meeting he confirmed that.

By signing tons of ageing footballers who demanded high wages. Don't get me wrong it was the board who sanctioned it but IMO Bassett's tenure was a prime example of short termism which lay the foundations for what followed

I would personally love it if someone with more money than sense came in and threw £15 million at us.

Anyone who doesn't want that is either a simple or not a Barnsley fan

But what happens if it goes wrong and they want it back?

    And we can't pay it.

That's the fear of people on here.

But we nearly went up but for a missed pen on the stroke of half time? remember footys not an exact science and Spackman hardly steadied the ship with all his useless signings. Who was that midfielder with the broken leg he signed? dixon or summat from leeds wasn't it? never kicked a ball for the reds in a year and half and you talk about bassett ruining the club financially!......

I didn't say sole cause, others that came later were also culpable. But we gambled and lost under Bassett. Whether that is his fault, the board that allowed it, or both is down to opinion.

And if the price we have to pay for investment is losing Hill then I don't see how that can be for the benefit of the club either short or long term.
