    Let me just remind everyone, the referee was a certain mr phil dowd. A guy who couldnt referee a mcdonalds happy meal

    He did move slightly out of the way though and any movement that close to the ball must distract the keeper, my point was not whether it was strictly a right decision just that the rule patently isn't fair, on that footing you could potentially have 2 o3 players totally blocking the keepers view and stlll not touching it.

    No if you are blocking the keepers view you are deemed to be interfering with play - Rooney definitely wasnt blocking the view of the keeper but if he had been standing in front of him and moved out of the way as the ball approached he should have been given offside
