Not sure how YT but make an exceedingly good cuppa char. Little finger raised from me, very much in favour/flavour??
Re: Since you last posted Yeah I just have no idea how they did it. Great example of their creativity and workmanship, they had built big containers to collect the water up there, but they also had drainage systems in which came all the way underground down to the ponds at the bottom. Along the paths they had created holes so when the water came rushing down, the pressure forced the water through the holes and created water fountains along the paths. Dunno if it's just me that gets amazed by things like that though!
If you like ancient engineering feats, look up the Antikythera Mechanism. There was a cracking documentary on about it the other week, fascinating.
Re: I love stuff like that I don't mind admitting that ancient history fascinates me. The pyramids, dinosaurs, Sheffield Wednesday's glory era, they're all very interesting. But seriously, I love conspiracies, the arguments for and against etc. And IMO the pyramids seem such an impossibility for mankind of that time. It's not that I doubt humans built them, but more my nature, and more that I'd bloody love to know how they did it and what with, how long etc. I'm a knowledge hunter. Not that my usual postings on here back me up.
Re: Another rumour I've been to the pyramids, spoilt by the locals begging. If you go take a big stick.
Re: Not my area of expertise Also, At the time Egypt was an almost 100% argriculturally based society so they have 2 very busy times of the year. Sowing and reaping. The rest of the time is open to discontent driven by boredom and aimed at the Pharoah. So the head man hands out a couple of major civil works progamme to keep them occupied, recycle the taxes back into the society, build a strong social team and construct a wonder of the world that they can all be rightly proud of. Seriously good management.
