RE: you on drugs or just thick?

    as before,

I am not racist, but the word paki derives from pakistani. How should this be offensive.

In the same sense, I have been on a rasicm course, where there was a bloke (from Casualty TV series) openly stated. "for god sake, I am black, my skin is black, and why should I be offended for someone to call me black".

I am just putting accross an alternative point.

Prickface. Oh sorry, am I being illegal.

If you dont know the difference between what is illegal and what isnt then i feel sorry for you. You clearly do not know the basic laws of the country.

    RE: a local newspaper report

I was asked for evidence, pointed to google and typed, christmas decoration ban, and this was the first result. Try it and find other links.

I am simply saying that PC is going a little too far. There are plenty of things that need sorting in the country, and throughout life without ploughing in resources to stop name calling.

Iraq, afghanisthan, pensions and so on. Surely are more and bigger items that need resources and arguments without spending more and more time on arguing over things like name calling.

Am I forgiven, Or Am I still a complete arse, as I was saying, it was an alternative, purely to cause a little unrest to find out how other people felt. Sorry for offending, or are you of (PC) asian origin and found my comment offensive.

    I apologise

You didn't make it up. And you pointed us in the direction of a respected newspaper. I'd still question the report, but I shouldn't have questioned you. Sorry.

Yes, I agree that PC has got out of hand. However, trying to put a stop to raist chanting at football games is something we should aspire to isn't it? Just because some parts of this whole PC thing are ridiculous it doesn't mean they all are.

    nope i'm english

or british for the PC lot. i'm not 'politically correct' a lot of the time but I just find racism appalling.

I'm talking about real racism, the type where people get beat up or murdered for the colour of their skin (black or white) or are subjected to abuse and constant shouting for the same reason. The same goes for gays and lesbians being abused for being homosexual.

Racist chanting at football is a big deal because it stops people wanting to go to games and when it does that then it has a big impact on the stability and future of BFC. Racist chanting may only be 'name calling' but it leads to other things. If someone is racist enough to call people paki's then it shows they have a problem with these people and arent afraid to show it, what is there to say they wont take it a step further out on the street?

Sure there are other important things like iraq etc but who said that you have to do one and not the other? It is like the fire brigade letting your house burn down because an ambulance was on a call in sheffield at the time. ie the two things are unrelated completly

    RE: I apologise

    thanks jay.

I completely agree, I was trying to put thnigs into context by saying there are other issues to consider and sort out, than name calling, after all this is all it is. (oops queue more abuse). I just beleive their are too many doo gooders out their that want to sort everything out, and no one is in the position to be able to do it.

I completely agree that rasicm is way out of line. But this is something that will take far more than ejecting/banning. because it is somthing that has been placed in peoples minds by others (parents more so than others) and that simply banning people from oakwell will not solve racism.

    RE: nope i'm english

    I agree.

The recent incident with that Anthony chap is a perfect example.

However, I am trying to point out that their are issues other than calling the referee/bradford fans names of that nature.

Whilst everyone is wanting to be in a position to sort everything out, its simply going to take more than ejecting people. (sorry for all agro, but this is what I was getting at)
