To be a football physio? Good thing about the rise of women's sports is there should be more roles available.

Yeah, she is 14 and obsessed with football. She trains 4 times a week with different teams and has been signed up by one. She knows realistically that the chances of making it professionally are small so she’s wanting to go down the physio route as she’s had a few injuries and was impressed by the work they do.

Women's football is opening up, a 17 year old I know is at Sheffield utd women's team so opportunities are out there if you're good enough. Think it was only about age 13/14 she joined a girls team.

I love that she knows the #Teams Like Barnsley! Means the rest of the staff and players will be aware too.

You can bet your bottom dollar he wouldn't be finding it hilarious if some middle aged bloke was making dirty comments like this about his daughter.

Really pisses me off how blokes think they can come out with stuff like this.

Do you know I find it painfully dreadful that some of you have forgotten the humour of the past. I imagine that the younger ones will never have heard of Round the Horne with Kenneth Horne, Keneth Williams etc in the 1960s when one of the characters was J Peasmold Gruntfuttock.
If you, or some of you, think that my attitude towards women is such as you imagine then I feel sorry for you.
Why you believe you are better people for being "holier than thou" then I can't imagine.
You have not lived the history of humour that I, and I hope others, have lived.
Please feel free to dislike what I say if you are such snowflakes but accept from me that if you can't handle history in the guise of comedy then you are so narrow minded as to be, I say it reluctantly, pathetic.
I mean no offence, it's only you that wants to be offended.
Whilst you are roaring with laughter at say Chubby Brown then think about it, why.
Have a listen to Round the Horne, it's on often enough on radio 4 extra, WITHOUT WARNINGS, you may laugh at it.
Or you may write in saying how offended you are.

There's only one person who's pathetic in this thread, and it's the one making smutty comments about a young lass doing her job. I notice you didn't address the same question to Craig, why's that I wonder? Why is it funny to say it to Vikki and not him?

You might not have noticed, but it isn't the 60s anymore and society has thankfully moved on a fair way in the last half century.

Top tip. When you have to describe your 'humour' as history it probably gives you a bit of a clue about your humour.

Top tip number 2. When literally everyone else tells you your 'humour' is inappropriate and you have to defend it by calling everyone else snowflakes in order to belittle them then there's a good chance that you are the one being a ****.

Top top number 3. When you've already shown yourself to be a sexist pig recently it's probably best not to make sexist comments

It wasn't funny though. It was just weird. Proper weird.

Not a fan of the 'cancel culture' and the easily offended. In fact, you'll normally find me siding with the person being criticised as their intent isn't normally to offend or there's two ways to look at something.

However this was misguided and misplaced in a thread that didn't need it. You took a stab at a joke. It didn't land well. Move on. Instead you've just gone on a rant and insulted the 'snowflakes' with far more aggression than was in any of the replies to you.

And Mr Badgers reaction on being called out on his smutty comments is probably the reason she responded lije that.

Side splitting. Tears rolling down my face. Thigh red raw from slapping it in hilarity.

Just, FYI: historical precedent is a bad argument for continued practice.

No one cares about what was or wasn't appropriate 50 years ago. Whatever your intentions were, it wasn't funny. It was weird and people have rightly called you out on it. Vikki may have read it. Vikki's parents may read it. Other women have definitely read it. You got it wrong. Far better to just hold your hands up I would have thought, rather than go on another offensive.

When you get called out for being a knobhead, one thing that always works is doubling down.

    Great stuff.

The fact that you used Chubby Brown as your example for a funny comedian says everything tbh

Sorry mate but it doesn't scan right even for people who remember 60's humour or earlier. It does come across as a bit weird whether or not you intended it to be like that. I say that not as a snowflake but as someone who has daughters of my own. No ill will towards you of course but if you stand back from it and look at it objectively maybe you might think 'Blimey that doesn't sound very good at all'.
    Cheers

I doubt anybody who had an issue with it will be roaring with laughter at Chubby Brown...
