    why are they declining?

    I thought for ages that sparrows had buggered off, but I'm seeing them in greater numbers now. Did Mistlethrushes eat sparrows as well?

    I think you'll find you mean hovering Windy and if so, I don't think it's a thrush. I reckon maybe a kite or something.
