St. Elmo's Fire - class Growin' up You don't see the writin' on the wall Passin' by Movin' straight ahead you knew it all But maybe sometime if you feel the pain You'll find you're all alone Everything has changed Play the game You know you can't quit until it's won Soldier on Only you can do what must be done You know in some way You're a lot like me You're just a prisoner And you're tryin' to break free CHORUS: I can see a new horizon Underneath the blazin' sky I'll be where the eagle's Flyin' higher and higher Gonna be your man in motion All I need is a pair of wheels Take me where my future's lyin' St. Elmo's Fire
The Pukka one there?? Didn't know he was a local lad (thats the wrestler Darren Burridge) He's the one in Orange!!
He said how he came to write that. Apparantly he had writers block and met a man who had broken his back and was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. The man was not downbeat he was annoyed about these that moaned about being indisposed for a few weeks when they had broken a leg etc. He decided to tour the World in his chair to show that his life was far from over, hence the reference to the wheels etc, in the lyrics.
He's a good lad and has given Laura/us four tickets to see him wrestle at the Doncaster Dome on 27th May. The tickets are priced at £45 each!
Yes you'll enjoy the show, some matches not suitable for kids though, be aware!! I'm a big wrestling fan and those shows are "hardcore", but very entertaining!! I'll be at the same show, i'm going. 1pw wrestling !!!
Even better Never knew that. Quite inspirational for an 80's soft rock effort. I just liked the tune and the words! Mind you, I'm not sure if it is heading into the Brian Potter territory of "Wind beneath my wheels" when he gets done by the undercover DHSS bird!
Great photos Kev, looks like a really great day glad you all enjoyed it, ps..you scrub up really well an all lol
Adam's Grandma has died and he can't get on her computer any more. Oldtimer28 tells me he will be back online when the will's sorted out.
well now you mention it...... i still cant see the resemblence, but having said that i might not recognise Brad Pitt either
Of course you can Brad Pitt gets really pigged off with people going up to him and asking ,"Aren't you Kevin Herring ? Can I have your autograph , please ?" !!!!ff
RE: Cool Toby runs a cracking comedy night at some pub in Sheffield. Thursday nights, I think. Went a few years back, but a mate went last week - still going strong. Toby does about ten minutes himself and comperes the night.
Nice one If you find out where it is, please let me know. I would like to go and have a gander and chat him up about a gig at our comedy night we do once a month in Hudders. ta
