Derby had 15 minutes of the game against us. We completely outplayed them. Their fans were very critical of them after the game. However - we defended like spackers. I'm sure Foster & Lucketti wouldn't have made a difference though ... oh no. Managers like Ritchie get sacked when people "outside the game" make decisions about people "inside the game".
Thank goodness, I was beginning to think that I was going mad. Wallwork spent the whole 90 minutes in both games hoofing the ball as high and as far as he could. He played centre half in front of 2 centre halves whilst Howard whiled away his time on the bench.
Of course. 'Cos that's exactly what I said. In your spacky little mind. Anyway - got to go. I have more interesting things to do that discuss things with a complete feckwit.
RE: Ritchie's last 11 games in charge: Statisitics are a wonderful thing, depending on how you want to manipulate them... 1 win in 11 gets Ritchie the sack, but one win in 6 games is enough to give Davey the permanent job: Football League Championship Leeds 2-2 Barnsley 02-12-2006 Football League Championship Barnsley 1-1 West Brom 10-12-2006 Football League Championship Leicester 2-0 Barnsley 16-12-2006 Football League Championship QPR 1-0 Barnsley 23-12-2006 Football League Championship Barnsley 1-0 Burnley 26-12-2006 Football League Championship Barnsley 0-3 Sheff Wed 30-12-2006 He then manages to extend that to a run of 1 win in 10, but fortunately for him Cup games don't count in the 'GS point average criteria': Football League Championship Wolves 2-0 Barnsley 01-01-2007 English FA Cup Southend 1-1 Barnsley 06-01-2007 Football League Championship Barnsley 0-1 Preston 13-01-2007 English FA Cup Barnsley 0-2 Southend 16-01-2007 Even taking into account the other games Davey has presided over... Football League Championship Barnsley 1-0 Ipswich 25-11-2006 Football League Championship Barnsley 2-0 Southend 28-11-2006 Football League Championship Luton 0-2 Barnsley 20-01-2007 Football League Championship Barnsley 2-0 QPR 30-01-2007 Football League Championship Cardiff 2-0 Barnsley 02-02-2007 Football League Championship Barnsley 0-3 Colchester 10-02-2007 ... he has 5 wins in 16 games. Of these, one was a last minute goal vs Ipswich and generally considered to be a crap performance, one was vs the bottom club in the league who we've subsequently failed to beat on 2 further occasions, the Burnley game was uninspired and could easily have been drawn or lost, and Luton failed to turn up for the game at Kenilworth road. Even the QPR game wasn't settled until Howard's goal. Bearing in mind that, amongst all this we've seen the insipid displays vs Leicester, QPR (a), Wednesday, Wolves, Preston, Southend and Colchester, then Davey is hardly proving to be the new Messiah.
5 wins in 16 another 5 wins and we might even stay up. 1 win from 11 and we were going down. no statistical spin, 1 from 11 is down material, FACT.
True , however Performances under Davey have ranged from ***** to Utter ****. They have deserved a lot less than we have got.
I hope Davey keeps us up . however I would show him the door as if this uninspiring ***** is the best he can come up with then he has no future at the club.
Why waste time like we did with Ritchie until November when you can have the new guy in charge during pre-season to evaluate the players.

RE: 5 wins in 16 I'm inclined to believe that AR would have been able to match the performances and results achieved vs Ipswich, Southend, Burnley, Luton and QPR (the 5 wins in question). I have grave doubts, however, that Davey's team will ever produce a fighting, come from behind, performance such as the one vs Leeds. He has, however, proved himself more than capable of matching the Palace performance on several occasions and has been able to bring in the players he wanted, unlike AR.
RE: 5 wins in 16 Bizarrely Davey will be backed by those who say he is restricted as to who can bring in by the budget and he is working within that.
I guess Ritchie had the same constraints but chose not sign any of the **** that we have signed under Davey.
I really hope that this Jones kid and the Hungarian guys can get the job done, coz the others signed have been mediocre at the very best.

RE: no Don't agree with everything you said but it was well put and well thought out unlike tykeman's posts where he completely missed the point and ignored the questions.
