The Strongbow advert

    This is an example of the kind of thing I'm on about when I say adverts used to be funny. The following was shown as three separate adverts. They were shown in the same ad break, but not one after another. You'd get the first, then two or three adverts for other products, then the second, two or three more adverts, and then the final advert. So the first time you ever saw it you hadn't a clue what was going on. You'd just think, WTF was that? When you got the pay-off it was genuinely funny. Stuff like that happened all the time and the ad breaks became essential viewing. You'd make a cup of tea when the show came on.

    The Tango ads were quality, until they were banned. And what happened to the coco pops and frosties ads?
    Budweiser ad with the frogs was decent a few year back.
    I like the current one with the dog and its toy. No idea what product was advertised, mind.

    some ads are genius, the Ade in adland programmes recently were a great watch brought back some good distant and not too distant memories. the martini ads with Joan Collins and Len Rossitter still make me laugh

    Nowadays I love the Meerkat ads(poor Sergei) and the Fosters ads...Give him a man hug..C'm ere you.
