A share issue would be my preferred option with the company being set up along lines restricting ownership and sale of the Club.

    I have to wonder

how many are of the opinion you and I seem to share.Keep it as it is I mean. I wonder if a fans voice by means of a petition or something similar, might just might have some effect.Or what possibility of getting some local investors and trying to sell shares to make up the amount, long shot I know.

We are up for sale, end of. And there's no multi millionaire Barnsley Fans, what do you Patrick to do? He's got much more important worries than Barnsley FC. You have to just trust that he sells us to the right people. Whoever comes in will be looking to make money from us but there's sweet FA we can do about it so no point worrying.

    suppose so matey

but it seems such a shame.By that I mean for once we can see a definate positive future the way things are.Its not so much worry more concern for the ruination of something that seems to be working.

I don't understand what some want? They're saying we're being run well, in the black whats the problem? No problem whatsoever we all know we are being run well in terms of account figures at the year end (mainly down to transfer fees and wage budget reductions, not the commercial side) and any genuine BFC fan would much rather us carry on as we are than be taken over by foreigners with no association to us whatsoever but the clubs up for sale and he wants out. Are they wanting PC to turn round and say "You know what now were in the black and breaking even l'll carry on for the next 5 years regardless of my health and court case" or do they suddenly want Paul Sykes to say he's a Barnsley fan? Or will we continue to sustain a Championship club on this wage budget once Hill's left?

we are very lucky to be in the situation we are in , operating at a profit , albeit a very small one and due in no small part to exceedingly tight financial control both on wages and transfer fees. if PC were to sell would any potential new owners be happy with this status quo? would they be happy to struggle to avoid relegation whilst enjoying the odd run of good results, which lets face even though we battered Birmingham 5 nil last week its been like that for 6 years now. Success for BFC is staying in the championship, yes we can dare to dream and so we should, theres nothing to stop us being promoted its just going to be damn difficult and under the said financial control very very hard..

so to any new owners, as some have said they arent investing as barnsley fans, they dont owe the club or feel the loyalty we all do, so whats in it for them? it has to be potential profit or else why invest? the new owners of Forest seem to be doing it the right way , appointed a manger who knows the game ( we already have one so should be kept, not up for discussion) bought and loaned some players but not enough to disrupt a team... and then look to build success without expecting it overnight... i know forest have a larger fanbase and so potentially are a much better investment however with the right investors, with the righ attitude theres nothing to stop BFC achieving gates of 15k and above and challenging for promotion.....

do it gradually , dont expect instant results, manage expectations..... and importantly...

    DONT BE AFRAID OF CHANGE

    well put that way..

I can feel some comfort in what you say,but will the new investors also be thinking that way too.Thats the point thats a huge concern.

Sounds good. I will bet the Italians aren't thinking like that though. Hill gone, Bonetti in. Great.
