    Yep, mainly because he wasn't sacked...nor would he have been, his contract was finishing...i.e not sacked.

    Call it what you want but he wasn't sacked.

    Neither side wanted to extend the contract mainly because a vocal minority (but still a sizeable chunk) of the fans are bored with the football & finishing mid-table & have had enough. Generally in football a mutual parting of the ways is nonsense but this is one of the rare times it’s true.

    Ipswich wanted a younger manager in to try & get back the fans that are fed up & McCarthy wants a job with some money to spend where he might have a chance to achieve things
