The very first spot that you saw the Reds? And have you moved since?

    Those were the days :)

Football was much harder then. Think if Alan Little was a player tpday and tackled in the same way. He'd get banned for 2 years and the player he tackled would be air lifted out of the ground to his penthouse suite!

Warnock and Felton were in same squad

at some point, they were rivals for the No.7 shirt.

Felton more cultured, Warnock, not suprisingly, like an angry wasp up and down the right wing.

    To be honest

I've not really got a problem with Warnock.

Essentially he's a fan, one-eyed, passionate, blind to his teams shortfalls, says stupid stuff, gets over-excited, feels like decking the family cat when he's lost - aren't we all a bit like that?

    cue abuse....

RE: Warnock and Felton were in same squad

true enough.... Warnock must have taken the mantle from the seemingly quiet Felton? Can you remember a certain Mr. Felton scoring directly from a corner, i seem to think it was a night match against Darlington??
By the way.... who the heck was Larry McGettigan? I can recall his bearded much in the programme at the start of the season, but i can't picture him turning out for the Reds

But he's the manager of a team we hate

therefore he's a person who plays with himself!

    Warnock

I think he's a belter! Would love to read an autobiography from him.... Incidentally; has the Billy Whitehurst one come out yet?

    RE: Chuff....

I've got virtually every programme since 1950 mate. I love my Tarn..... my spare room is the so-called 'guest's room' and they are welcomed to 50 or so bound volumes of home programmes and numerous pics of Oakwell in its splendour.

Brewery stand opposite the players tunnel.

Then when I was 17 I moved to the Ponty end, stood with mates....directly behind the goal about half way up....stayed there until East Stand opened, one mate who had a season ticket took them up on the free exchange that season to go in East Stand. Alternated, depending who was going to games, between going in Ponty and going in East Stand before finally staying in the East Stand. Season ticket in there since....though moved 1 seat over when my mate didn't renew season ticket for the 1996-97 season.

Started off on the north side terrace when I first started going weith my dad ( Southport first game ever...bloody hell I feel old now) can still remember being mesmerised by the sheer size of it all and the colours when they put the lights on),then as I got older me and my mates moved to the Ponty and used to change ends to be behind the goal we were attacking when you were allowed, followed by a period penalty area (ish) in the brewery as I got older before ending back on the Ponty now.

Brewery, half way line.. then onto

sitting on the wall right down at the front (when I was old enough for my dad to let me go down their). Stayed their for about a season on a half until winston campbell of all people, blasted the ball out of play and knocked me right off it. Me and my cousin then decided to go stand on the corner (bet brewery and ponty)

Then into ponty while they built the east stand.

then into ponty when that was rebuilt, been their ever since, but swapped seats a few times, and I think I have now finally found my perfect place....

Started off in Brewery Stand with the family (Dad, Nan & Grandad) in 70's about 4 years old. Moved over to the otherside when I got old enough to go on my own with my mates (Always wore my scarf around my wrist to dangle over the wall at the front). When I left school moved into Ponty End with my first season ticket. (I didn't risk Ponty End to start off with, it always looked too full and dangerous with all the pushing & shoving, thought I would get crushed as a young'n)
    Memories of the old days!!!!

West stand in the seats upstairs end nearest the Ponty

soon moved to the brewery stand at the front once I was tall enough to see over the wall
then moved back to the wooden section when I grew still taller - usually about 10 yards beyond the halfway line - ie nearer the cop than the Ponty

I'm back in the West Stand now when I go, centre section behind the directors box
