To be fair to the ref he did tell their keeper at the end of the first half.

Their goalie took his time over goal kicks, but a great deal of 'time wasting' happened with the ball at his feet, which is not illegal as the ball is in play. The crowd would kick off, but it is up to our strikers to chase him down and make him kick it. There's nothing the ref can do about it.

That passed some folk by, maybe the 2000 who haven't been for a while. :D

The times I counted were actually seconds he had the ball in his hands. I totally agree that if it's on the floor then it's up to our forwards to chase him down. The referee left it far too late to warn him about his timewasting too. When he did finally say something, that was the time he should have been booking him - long after warning him.

i used to do that when i was in goal nothing wrong with it. also if a long ball had been played and come into area i would wait as long as i could to pick it up.

the SUPPOSED 6 second rule is from when the keeper has it in his arms. How many refs have you seen penalise a keeper for it.

Its a rule thats not a rule really and it does actually need changing.Same as if a goal kick is taken and the ball doesnt go out the area. Why should you get to take it again.
It should be an indirect free kick to the attacking team, saw a game other day keeper knocked ball short from goal kick to defender,he was under pressure so just stepped into area.
Keeper gets to take kick again. That wants changing ASAP.

I think the "crowd kicking off" when ball on ground is more to alert our player tochase him down. Agreed, absolutely nothing wrong and one occasion I thought there goalie could easily have left it longer before he played it
