I know Fran and Nic from a few years back. They used to be in the Crucible Theatre's Youth Theatre group, I did a few music and songwriting lesons with them when they were 13 yr old nippers. All I can add to this debate is that they were very talented, committed and down to earth girls with a passion for singing. They certainly didn't give a flying **** about Washday or the Blunts, other than it provided them with a platform to promote the 'Twin' act in front of thousands of punters. I'd kept in touch with them and e-mailed them after the event basically saying 'ouch' and they replied saying that they were as happy as Larry, as any artistic turn would be for all the great (even National Press!) publicity it had generated, whilst at the same time feeling stupid for their actions. They were embarrassed by their naive and angry response to the Reds fans baiting and had got caught up in a heat of the moment lashout. They're not into football, They don't support Sheffield Wednesday or Shefffield United, They don't hate Barnsley or people from Barnsley, they weren't having a go at us and felt awful about the whole thing . Inappropriate gig booked by their agent at that time for the lasses. Good luck to them in XFactor, load a ballax though it is! Hope that's helped fill in some gaps. Get behind them. South Yorkshire girls. I'll get back in touch and ask em to wear Tarn shirts on telly. Twins. Jeez.

I was there, and I think that they were stupid for doing what they did. I know also that they think that too and regret it, and wanted to share that since it came up again.

Yes they had a reight go! and I thought it was funny and embarrassing too! but of course it wasn't aimed at our football team or our town and I think that you realise that too. Some of the earlier comments from other people perhaps didn't though!
