Of course we do but saying we had more possession when we've lost is meaningless.

It depends are we still on topic or have we just devolved to insults because someone disagrees with you?

When it comes to analysis of RESULTS as these are what matter in terms of the League table they are just that.

In what way is the post you refer to "confrontational" ?

I have taken issue with those who post "utter *****" etc. because I think it demeans this board.

If you think otherwise then fair enough. You have your own point of view and I welcome any criticism.

    Yeah but with limited authority.

You must defer to everyone who actually went.

What we are doing is looking at the overall improvement of the team, and considering statistics, it seems they weren't offensively awful today.

I reiterate - why is it so bad to fairly judge performance based on objective fact?

Well, what I saw yet again was a team that had possession in areas where it cannot hurt the opposition, and at times opening the opposition up with pace not with square balls.

I can only recall their keeper making one save. We got them under the kosh at the start of the second half by upping the tempo and moving the ball quicker which helped us score. We couldn't get back to that level of tempo again.

The kind of constructive analysis we look for from someone who attended the match.

    Willowgarth?

I scored when playing for Hemsworth High School against Willowgarth.

Sadly it was in my own net.

Liverpool 1 Barnsley 2......statistics showed barnsley got ripped a new ar5e hole that day the result proved otherwise...

call me a old fart but statistics in football dont count for a bloody thing on the day if they dont produce the right result.
Every game is different so todays statistics wont help us win the next match because the next games statistics havent been created

why folk need to complicate a simple game that is about kicking a bloated bag of wind around for 90 minutes is beyond me

Discussed this today. Convinced it's part of justifying the obscene wages...

Too much emphasis on statistics makes for the negative safety first football than has infected us and many others. On pass completion Ben Pearson should be playing for Barca. Unfortunately this doesn't take into consideration the fact that 86% of those passes are square balls to Lewin.

I don't mind a stat or two myself but don't let them blind you. Against Swindon we had 37% possession. Would you agree it would be better to have less possession and play more progressively. Risk losing the ball in more offensive areas occasionally maybe going for an early ball.

I thought we did OK today and we would have got the draw which we deserved but we're undone by poor substitutions from an inexperienced manager. But I don't fall into the getting carried away by every victory or defeat camp. We are what we are a mid table division 3 side with lots of promise but as of yet little on field progress.
