    This was touted in Canada a few years ago, went quite high up but not sure it ever made it into legislation.

    This from the country that has more people in jail per head of population than anywhere in Europe. And we're building more prisons.

    Im sure there's many other examples - legal age of gay sex and attitude to drugs to name but two.

    You cant make that the law though

    If a company is happy to do that then there is no problem and many will but you cant force companies to stay open for 1 employee to work say on xmas day when they want to close down for the entire festive season.

    I am sorry but if you live in a country you have to either obey its laws and customs or work around them - eg by taking vacation for your special holy days.

    I am all for tolerence of other religions and customs but not bending over backwards for them.
