I was being sarcastic first time round. We do live in a liberal society but to claim we are the most liberal country in the world (leading to the application of Sharia law) is not true.

    what next....

    muslim only:

    Shops
    Supermarkets
    Car Parks
    Schools (as mentioned)
    Villages
    Towns
    and then,

    they take over the country...

They have only one purpose in life, and thats to take over the world, and do you know what, they can try, but ever attempt to convert me, they are in for a rude awakening...

Why do I get the feeling, that this "great Idea", is so they can claim racisim when they don't get the funding they need as apposed to other schools.

Or maybe, this is one of the first (ahem) schools.....

    The law in this country

should apply to everyone regardless of race creed colour religion. If they wan't the law to be changed then get sufficient support to elect a muslim government and vote for the laws to be changed.

Isn't that how it works in a democracy. Are there any democratic Muslim states ? or are they oligarchies or dictatorships. (genuinely don't know)

Who is requesting this anyway ? Is it radical extremists proporting to speak on behalf of all muslims, or is it a genuine groundswell of opinion amongst peacefull law abiding muslims ?

The idea of this form of justice of mutilation for even trivial offences makes me feel sick to the stomach, like a return to medieval times.

Oh two questions , where do the women go when Friday prayers take place and why do women have to cover themselves but men don't ? Sounds a little misogynistic to me.

Turkey , however they are a secular state.

The military apparently aren't keen on an Islamic State as such.

Its the Army that are preventing the Islamists taking over.

Its not a military Govt as such , from what I have read the Govt can do what they want unless they threaten the secularity of the state. The Army keep a watching brief on what the Govt do.

When I was there last year.........

I was talking to one chap, a Turkish muslim, and I said, "One thing I haven't done yet is go to look at the mosque."

"Why would you want to go to the mosque?" he says.

    "It's a beautiful building" says I.

"Yes," he says, "a beautiful building with stupid poeple in it.
