    The board will definitely be addressing the situation kp. I don't want a board that makes knee jerk decisions. In Cryne, Mansford and Watkins we have a very clever board. I'm sure they're acutely aware of the situation. I personally see no point sacking a mgr, if we don't have another lined up

    I've been one of Flitcroft's most vocal backers and still want him to do well for us. Unfortunately, it's nigh on impossible to argue against 2 wins out of 16. Nor an unwillingness to take the game to the opposition, especially away from home.

    How do you know they're clever? Mansford has never been involved in a decision like this, Watkins never needed to and Cryne hasn't, in my opinion, covered himself in glory with his sackings or appointments.

    And then there's Barry.

    Flicker used to say he phoned fergie etc for advice last season , no idea who he is phoning this season as we look a different team under a different manager

    The one positive we can take from all this is the fact that we have a man in Maurice Watkins that will have plenty of connections within the game,

    Mansford and Watkins are both trained solicitors, and Watkins was a former director at Manchester United. I think that makes them
    clever, but just my opinion.

    Surely Watkins must have Mike Phelan's number, perhaps he could give him a ring and sound him out about the job.

    Why he would contemplate coming to Oakwell is another matter entirely!

    With the odd exception, replies 2-27 were the usual pointless drivel you get whenever HT starts a thread. He does quite well to rise above it.

    When we're in need of a quick turn around you need to pick a manager who will suit the player's strengths. I don't think 4-4-2 particularly suits us as we're lacking midfielders who can attack and defend. I'm of the opinion that Flicker should still be given some time to turn it around like he did last season but if it doesn't happen, our best hope is Watkins' connections.
