The Uni did get some good bands in back then. From memory “Presidents Ball” was invitation only, and so tickets basically went to the President’s Mates. In this instance the Sports President was my football team mate a certain Kelly Simmonds - who went on to be a major advocate of Women’s football in the FA. She sorted us tickets I believe.
When I was 10 my uncle who was a leeds fan and a nerd, gave me Lord of the rings. I hated it instantly and any of these books / films with characters names with no vowels in them or the places they come from.
