    Steele was dropped unfairly but Davey wanted to put Muller in the shop window. I am confident Davey sent Muller back out was not Heinz's choice

    I doubt it, the injury in itself is what would destroy confidence if it was to have an impact.

    Whether it was or not, we needed the 3 points, no keeper on the bench (thats a different discussion), so he had to play on. I think Muller would have been out for just as long if he had come off at half time.

    His confidence will have been destroyed by the fact that it's highly unlikely that we're going to score a goal, ever. The defenders and keeper then end up under ridiculous pressure to not make a mistake and start to get scrutinised much more then before. If we went into any game knowing we're capable of winning our back line would look much stronger. We go into games hanging on to a point.

    I always find it strange how people thought Marriott was so bad

    Made the odd clanger but we've had far far far worse.

    Had a good career and was still decent when we had him in my opinion.

    Marriott and Whitehead?

    Both were very good keepers IMO. Whitehead went to Oxford and was their Player of the Year the following season, whereas it was Marriott who attracted the attention of Birmingham but then dropped a clanger early on there.
