RE: And the same delicate finances. yeah we finished 5th in the 3rd division last year, got promoted on pens against a team we couldnt beat in the league and we are now 2nd bottom of the championship...not the makings of a 3 year contract to me...
RE: Your all right asking that.......... Some people don't have there own mind, they'll be waiting for someone else to answer!!! Few little you can change with the players we have.
RE: And the same delicate finances. Personally id play with wing backs and 3 centre halves, togwell tidying up in midfield, releasing 4 to 6 attacking players going 4ward then u also have 6 to 8 players defending when needed!!
RE: And the same delicate finances. Never mentioned three years............ Have the club said it will be three years??? From what I have seen it is the papers speculating 3 years, which regardless of 1st in league or 24th, Barnsley would not offer that length of time! If AR does get a contract, I would bet on 18 months or 12 months rolling
Boltonred................agree except for one thing Same players !!! If a new manger came in I don't think for one minute we would have the same players This is what all the argument on here has been about Its this.......I like Ritchie, most on here like Ritchie.....but he has taken pig-headedness to a new level with is reluctance to sign players that would keep us in this division We have 6 forwards at the club, they struggled in the 1st division, how the hell they are expected to do better in the Championship is beyond beleive
RE: And the same delicate finances. Of course you do, but recent history ought to be screaming at you that ditching managers after the first major hiccup has done precisely NOTHING for this club. Steady, ultra-patient progress and STABILITY are the only way for the club to proceed after what they've been through in the last few years. Those after the quick fix of a new manager/chairman/overpaid players are not looking at the bigger picture.
RE: Boltonred................agree except for one thing We'd still have the issue of getting players in. People want experience, but that involves a high price (wages and trans fee).
RE: Errrr wrong Errrr, ok then..... Read my post and I was askin a question!!!! I stated that from what I had seen. If you have seen or heard that mentioned, then fair enough. Would still be surprised!
RE: This "reluctance to sign players" But that is what a large percentage of people on here believe, sadly!
Reluctance to sign players who wouldn't add much, if any, value to the squad... Good for Ritchie - unless we want another twenty crocked, over-the-hill, third-rate midfielders drawing a wage for the next three years while never kicking a ball a la Spackman... We need some signings and we need them fast, agreed, but I doubt Ritchie is deliberately turning down players - we simply can't afford the fees and / or wages of the right players...
RE: And the same delicate finances. Colgam-GK Reid-CB Hassell-CB Kay-CB Hecky-LWB Austin-RWB Togwell-DM Howard-CM McIndoe-CM Nads-CF Richards-CF
RE: And the same delicate finances. Hecky and Austin as wing backs? I take my hat off to you. You are a comedy genius.
RE: And the same delicate finances. Hecky, WB...........You'll be lucky to get him back and forwards throughout a game. Prob same with Austin too
RE: And the same delicate finances. Go on then what would u do to change things round??? Or do u just mock others?? NOB!!!
I just mock. It makes me feel better about myself. But since you ask, nothing we can do with the current squad will do us any favours. The midfield's lightweight, the defence is sluggish, the forwards can't finish. We've all known since before the start of the saeson that we need new players. Until we get them, we're screwed.
