You need to read properly before replying mate.

I didn't say YOU target women and kids. I said your thugs do. Read the accounts.

You seem to think yours is the only valid account of the day. Isn't it a bugger when everybody else is marching out of step?

RE: Well said...

Again there isnt much in here I cant disagree with.

We had pissed up idiots, you didnt, thank god for that as trouble would of happened. I came in on a coach and by the sounds of it the ones who travelled on train or stayed up overnight were the ones who have acted really badly.

I can only deny what I saw with my eyes and would never try and say "No you never saw that" and I am sorry if it seems I have tried to, I mean not to.

I am extremely ashamed to that people have acted this way but look how I refuse to call them fans, they arn't, they can't be. Its obvious with how we arn't all like this, I have pointed out the same with as an example which will be close to your heat "England Abroad". Dont take any of this the wrong way but you would hate it if a German family told you the same about them called you a "lovely person", labelled you the same, said it was a higher number or blew it out of proportion or even jumped on the bandwagon. You would defend yourself aswell while admitting this had little to do with you even though you fall into the bracket.

Let me make myself clear if at all possible.

How some of our fans acted were absolutely disgusting, I am very sorry you have been offended or scared and I wish I could drag the Barstewards by the ears to this pc for them to say they are sorry aswell, they dont deserve Cardiff City Football Club. We as a club have done loads in the last 6 years to get rid of this scum. I hope they now get punished for their actions. I hope they treated the same and they know how intimidating it feels. Out of the 33k fans there a small proportion of ours (larger than yours, larger than other clubs) acted in a very rude, unsporting, nast way. It was a small amount, smaller than what some people here belive. Too small to make "The Welsh This" or "The Welsh That" just as England thugs don't do to England yet you will get told the same. And its very sad it happens but I hope any of your fans that witnessed it don't get blinkered by it.

I do understand your points Im not sure which point I dont get I keep agreeing with you on most of them other than the proportions of trouble.

Susie makes an excellent post above for eg.

I dont mean to seem argumentative on most of the points only on one or two and perhaps failing in my ways of getting them across.

Wonder if this was partly due to the different ticket selling styles

I would say that the way BFC sold tickets (i.e. 4 per ST holder) for the majority of its tickets meant that family groups or groups of friends went together, rather than 1's and 2's of single young men.

Certainly where we were sat behind the goals there seemed t be familes/groups with kids in party mood rather than drunk neanderthals.

Not excusing any of it of course, arseholes are arseholes.

RE: Ok mate.

Before you just chuck the following to the kerb it is one route open to you.

Write to our club with as many stories of what you saw and experienced as possible, bit late for your sake but this is another way in which you can offer support to Pompey in regards there will be more stewards and police around and hope the Police crack down heavy handed on any Spitting, Intimidation, Bullying, Abuse.

I saw one Cardiff fan goading about 10 Barnsley "Hard boys" (as I would desrcibe them) and while Barnsley asked the young lad "Come down here and say that" the Cardiff lad just kept screaming a them, they would of pulled his limbs off him. We all felt embarrsed by this and eventually a copper came and stood next to him, must of asked him not to. Now down here Im sure he would of been thrown to the ground and cuffed but would could of happened next is an aggressive response by a larger number of Cardiff fans so IMO the police were laid back rather than heavy handed on advice from above.

They should take a very dim view an detain any acts of intimidation, spitting, serious abuse as it will show a message to all the others who wish to act that way. There were other events in London that day and maybe they felt they were stretched as it was?

RE: Well said...

I'm sure the above isn't quite what you meant..

Please note I am not tarring you personally with this behaviour. I am merely reporting
my own experience.

You don't have to apologise for scaring me, it takes a lot more than these pricks to
do that !! However my kids were pretty shook, especially at having to be escorted
to "safety" by the Mets finest. Try explaining to an 8 year old that the "bad lads" haven't
got away with it. That its them the police should be arresting and not us....... Its a good
place to be isn't it ?

And I will agree with you totally that Barnsley have pricks, that all clubs have pricks following
them, that England have pricks etc etc My point is that your club has a higher proportion attaching
themselves to it than most others.

You raise the talking to German families from an England perspective, I live in Ireland and have to
deal with the whole Lansdowne Road thing in conversation quite regularly. I was also in Paris for France
98 after it kicked off in Marseille, almost apologising for my nationality in conversation with Frenchmen.

However in both situations I do not deny what happened or try to paint a different picture. I
take it on the chin, and apologise. I'm very glad to see that this is what you now seem to accept.
So thanks for that.

RE: Well said...

Basically before the match I didn't much like Cardiff City FC because of their reputation and because Ridsdale's a ****. After the match they're at number two in my "clubs who I would love to see lose every match" league table (just behind Grimsby). Wrong or right I felt that the majority of Cardiff 'fans' were abusing Barnsley fans and I couldn't wait to get back in the car and as far away from them as possible, which is a shame. Only met two nice ones all day, who gave up a table for us in a cafe when none of the Barnsley fans there wanted to know. So I know that not all Cardiff fans are like that, I'm sorry I didn't meet more who weren't idiots.

And for the record I don't support England because the travelling 'fans' put me off when I was young. As such I think you'll understand that having a bad (and deserved) reputation is quite rightly something to be ashamed of. Whether the club does something to rectify this is (happily) nothing to do with me.

And I don't think anyone on here thinks that you or the other Cardiff fans who've posted on here are anything to do with what happened on Sunday, but sadly I don't feel like you're representative of the 'supporters' we saw at the weekend.

Come on Pompey!

My experience ................

............. getting off at Wembley Park as a train full of Cardiff fans pulled in, my 8 YO decides in vain to counter their chants with his own feeble attempt at "BARNZERLEE" . One tough looking meat-head crossed over ("****" I thought), shook my hand and wished me a good day whilst tousling Toms hair. His mate however, looked me in the eye and said "fck off, English cnt" and gobbed on the floor. So fairly neutral. I must say the rest of the walk down Wembley Way was reasonably hassle free but any intimidation was purely from the Welsh side unfortunately. Why a group of beered up taffs want to sing about England being full of **** full-on to a group of kids is beyond me, but (I told one of 'em "it is today" but I think that was beyond him)............. Though there were reports yesterday that Barnsley fans were just as disrespectful in London.

I think the "bare arsed" coach passed us on the way in. Full of Taff kids giving it the "w@nker" and V-signs. Start 'em off young eh?

Also, an E reg gold Volvo 740 containing 3 taff neanderthals all supping cans (along with plenty of empties on the back seat) and stopping alongside the coaches to lean out of the windows and gesture at our fans.

Highly amusing when a police car went past with the siren on - the cans quickly disapeared and they got back into their car seats pretty sharpish. Cowardly neandethal scum.

This post to me is a perfect example of where Im trying to come from along with the one above.

The post above notes how a man with his 8 year old who rightly so shouts "Barrrnzleeee" (good on ya young man and so you should) has to put up with a grown man who somehow feels intimidated enough to approach him aggressively shout some English stuff and spit on the floor, if he had spat in his face I would call him SCUM, he is a tiney winey little bit under SCUM because he approached him in the first place, scared him rather than doing what he should do as a grown man and shout "Blooobirds Blooobirds" with maybe the worst being poking his tongue out at him in a joking way. He probably has kids himself and that old saying "Out of sight, out of mind" springs to mine.

Then in this post someone says how young kids gave the ****** sign and the v sign and says "Start 'em young eh?". I saw that from both ends with Men, Women and kids in Blue and Red doing the same, but there is no harm there. That dosent mean it is right to do so but the Man and Child on the train, now thats serious harm yet again no violence was brought. Then a car full of men pull up alongside your coach and as far as we know only the passengers have been drinking, lean out the window and gesture at the coach, Police drive past, I imagine the driver tells them "ffs get back in now" and they do, does this make them SCUM? Not in my opinion. It makes them perhaps fools, drunken ones at that along with being rude. I hope those of you on the coach gave as good back as you got because that was what I was watching as both sets of coaches came in and out. I boo'd your players coach at 1.45ish and cheered mine, I didnt give any ****** sign but my thumb was pointing downwards "Booooooo" I am a civilised respectful football fan who takes his daughter to all home matches knowing that there will be no trouble, yet I did that. No harm done or am I out of order?

A lot of the ******/v sign stuff goes on in every ground every game and shouldnt be forgotten as if people get branded SCUM for that then at one time we are all guilty.

If the driver of the Volvo was drinking and it more than his 1st he is SCUM, he offered no abuse from what I can tell but drink driving is a crime. A serious one at that.

SCUM - Intimidating anyone past the stage of a joke so far so they think that in a split second of banter its going to kick off, spitting at someone, violence, theiving of possessions (ie pinching and burning of flags regardless of colours), racial abuse, abuse of property...............please add to this list so we can define SCUM as banter dosent mean SCUM in my opinion.

I will continue to take your word for it and wish you hadn't but thats too late my only arguments continue in defining SCUM and Banter.

I hope the driver wasn't drinking we cant know for sure.

you seem an OK guy, and i admire you trying to defend your club from the idiots that give it a bad reputation

But..... I dont care if you 'take my word for it' or not, you can't dilute what happened...... i know what i saw, my son knows what he saw and a lot of other people know what they saw.
