My greatgrandad was still coming to Oakwell into his early 90's. He died aged 97, was wounded at the Somme in 1916 & saw us win the cup in 1912. He hurled more abuse at under performing players than anyone I have ever seen. He was so vociferous my parents wouldn't stand with him at the match. There is a long tradition of this kind of thing.... As a DJ, if someone thinks I'm **** they generally say it literally to my face. Time to grow up, grow a pair, or quit for some of these overpaid jokers that we have employed.
There are people there who have paid a days wage to watch that shower. They are well within their rights to say we are ****ing **** as loud and as often as they want. If the players can't take a bit of stick especially when they are on three or four times at least the salary of those who essentially pay their salary then they can **** right off.
This is my view, too. At least they give a $hit and are expressing their opinion - unlike, say, me, when I just watched through my fingers in silence against Fleetwood. As long as people still care, there's hope. Once that goes, we're dead.
I liked what city manager said about fans booing the champion league theme , they paid their money and if they're booing it means something is wrong with uefa. Same here.
Usually I would agree and say that negative comments won't help the situation and we should be encouraging them . But I think the time has come for these wasters to realise that there performance and cowardice is not acceptable, we haven't got anyone on the pitch tough enough to give out a rollicking and give the players a kick up the backside so the penny might drop if they hear the fans disgust after parting with there wages to watch this rubbish
It was the Coventry supporters. Genuinely. They were singing you're fkin **** just before they scored, and our lads then backed that up immediately. And if you're not at the game you're not one to talk about "getting behind them".
They get the plaudits and the positive chants when they do well. Generally the negativity only starts when fans have had a long run of **** to put up with. It works both ways.
Don't let the facts get in the way of your argument but you are 100% diametrically and totally wrong. It was the Coventry fans singing 'You're ******* sh!te" after their goals. Reds fans were a credit all night greeting the pathetic first half with stoicism and gallows humour and clapping the players to a man after the improved second half. (It was just a shame that Johnson snook into the line and deluded himself into thinking that any of the applause was for him).
Echo above. It was coventry fans singing it. We were just quiet. Apart from one bloke who I'm sure the whole ground could hear him trying to get us going . They got the appreciation for the 2nd half effort. Certainly not the 1st any road. Home now a quick whisky and off to hit the sack. 300. Good effort that tbh.
None of the Barnsley fans were singing it at all. It was the Coventry fans singing "you're ****ing ****"
